Larson and Pierre... A rather strange pair. Lara had mixed feelings about both of them. She loathed them, but they gave her a slightly challenging competition, and that was always fun.

Lara sat awake in bed, unable to sleep, thinking about Larson and Pierre. There was one thing about them that deeply confused her:

In her quest for The Scion of Atlantis, she had many encounters with the two of them. She was angry when one of them impeded her progress, but could not help but feel excited when one or both of them were around, as they would always put up a fairly good fight, but, without a doubt, she would always outsmart them.

She therefore could not help but feel sorrowful when Pierre was trampled to death by centaurs. It was his own fault, and she had one less enemy to worry about, but enemies, to Lara, were not necessarily a bad thing. They put a little more fun into her adventures.

Even more depressed she was when she was forced to shoot Larson with a shotgun. Usually Larson and Pierre would threaten Lara, and she would, in turn, threaten them, but all three of them knew that it was just scare tactics. This time, however, Lara had no choice. If she hadn't shot Larson, he would have killed her, right? Or maybe Larson had thought Lara was only joking... Maybe she shouldn't have killed him... This constantly plagued her.

But what was in the past was to stay in the past. What had been done was done, so to speak, and there was no changing it, right?

Another time Lara had been on a quest for the Mercury Stone. She was not sure exactly when she partook in this quest, but logically it must have been prior to her quest for The Scion, as Larson and Pierre had been involved.

But wait just a minute... Pierre fell into an extremely deep pit, and Larson was killed by some dragon heads which emerged when the stones were put in place on the wall...

Well, then, Lara thought, my quest for the Scion must have taken place before my quest for the Mercury Stone, because Larson and Pierre were killed during the quest for the Mercury Stone... But they were killed during the quest for the Scion as well... this never failed to baffle her.

She missed her worthy adversaries, but now they were dead. Dead competition was no fun at all... But they had each died at least twice in Lara's presence... Who knows how many times they had died when she wasn't there...

Perhaps she would meet them again. Knowing that they were able to die numerous times and still function made Lara feel at ease, since she held herself partially responsible for their numerous deaths. They would always be there to be her worthy opponents. To be her interesting obstacles in her quests...

But what if one day she wanted to get rid of them for good?
