Astrid's Pov
If was to say I was cold, I'd be lying. I was freezing.
My boyfriend of ten years, Hiccup Haddock had called me to our favorite spot, out in the snow for some odd reason that he wouldn't tell me. I started to reach for my phone to call him when I heard soft footsteps behind me, I slowly turned around to see my auburn headed boyfriend.
"Your late," I noted.
He sighed and took a seat next to me on the cliff side, "I know, I know it's not exactly easy to find this place without getting lost a couple of times." I shrugged and pulled my jacket closer to my small frame. Hiccup, being the gentleman he is, shrugged off his coat and handed it to me. I mumbled a thanks and pulled the coat on then gently leaned my head on his shoulder.
"So what'd you call me here for?" I asked Hiccup.
"Well…"
Hiccup's Pov
I took a deep breath and thought, "I can't believe I'm about to do this…"
"Well, we've been dating for about ten years correct? And today is our anniversary. I've been wanting to give this to you for a while but I never had the guts to, and I'm always so nervous when I'm around you. But, over the years I've learned that I can be myself when I'm around you and I guess that's what's made me love you even more.
I can't even express my love for you Astrid… I love you more then you'd ever imagine, yes I know I sound like a sappy romance novel but really, I can't even explain to you how much I love you. And being with you only makes me love you more and more.
I took a deep breath and reached into my pocket until my fingers wrapped around a small velvet box, I gently took the box out of my pocket and turned to look at Astrid.
"Astrid Hofferson, I love you with all my heart and I really have no words to say on how beautiful, or smart, or courageous you are. And I really want to spend the rest of my life with you…. So I guess what I'm asking is, will you marry me?"
I slowly opened the baby blue box.
Astrid's Pov
I brought my hands to my mouth and let a soft gasp escape from my lips, was Hiccup really asking me this? I've been waiting for a long time for him to finally ask. A smiled graced my lips as I examined the beautiful ring, the ring it's self was gold with diamonds and emeralds adjourning the sides, a large diamond was placed in the middle. Inside the ring was I love you engraved beautifully. I looked from the ring to Hiccup and nodded my head while allowing fresh tears of joy to flow down my face. "Yes, yes, yes,yes!" I repeated over and over again before I pulled him into a gentle kiss.
