I own nothing to do with Harry Potter.
My name is Lily Potter. I am sixteen years old. Now, before you get any funny ideas, my father is Harry Potter. You try being the daughter of a legend. It is a great deal like work. This is my life, believe it or not.
My two older brothers, James and Albus, are everything a Potter ought to be: tall, athletic, handsome and a powerful wizard. Now don't think that I am not everything a Potter should be. I am, trust me. But life is never easy in my house, something I am convinced would change if my family did not spend quite so much time together. My mother is the youngest of seven, and though only five of her brothers are living, that still makes for quite a lot of chaos. Aunt Hermione says that my dad is trying to give us the life he never had, and part of that includes a large clan of relatives and family friends.
My parents are extraordinary; their names, as with those of my Uncle Ron and Aunt Hermione are legendary. And I have the challenge of living up to their past, forget trying to surpass them. Saving the Wizarding world pretty much tops the list. I'm almost finished with Hogwarts and my parents have been telling me how lucky I've been the past six years: no terrifying, death-defying incidents. Pretty much it's been boring, not that life at Hogwarts is ever really boring. My Uncle George has taught me plenty of things over the last few summers. Mum says he's never been the same since Uncle Fred died 26 years ago, but I still think he is amazing. Plus he has been giving me things from the joke shop (behind Mum's back of course) ever since I started at Hogwarts. Dad even gave James, Albus and I his map and cloak. Mum almost killed him when she found out, until he reminded her of all of the things that she had been involved in at school. Something about "the DA" came up, but that's something that she pretends didn't happen in front of me. Go figure, as if I didn't know that my mother was kidnapped by Lord Voldemort when she was 11, played Quidditch as a fourth year (in Dad's place no less!), and helped fight against this sadistic DADA teacher in the same year, as well as fighting in the Battle of Hogwarts. I'm told neither Dad nor Grandma were very happy when she did that. But I would have done it too, so it doesn't really matter. And she fought Bellatrix Lestrange and survived!
I'm named after my grandmother and I live in my mother's shadow. My Aunt Hermione is the smartest witch in her generation and my Uncle Ron had to live with the mess made by simply standing next to her and my dad. I pity everyone who doesn't have what I have: a loving family.
