Alright people (and aliens not unlike myself)!

I really hope you enjoy this quick story. I felt bad because LadyoftheBirds and I wont have much time over the next week to post our story so here's a peace offering.

Love you guys!

I toss and turn for hours before I finally decide I can't sleep.

The Akuma from earlier today and when I had been shot, plague me.

I thought I was dead but sure enough minutes later I'm waking up surrounded by Ladybug and a team of paramedics.

The way she looked at me when I woke up, her eyes brimming with the tears of her poorly hidden emotions.

She looked away and the paramedics buzzed around me, checking my vitals.

When I finally got away she was gone.

I slip out of bed and throw on some pants and an old sweatshirt.

I quietly transform and slip out into the night for a midnight run through paris.

Did she not care that I almost died?

Was she too busy to care?

Was she upset with me? Does she think I failed?

I shove my thoughts aside and let the brisk wind guide me as I vault through the streets.

I'm about five minutes into my run and maybe a mile or two away from home when I hear it.

The soft cries of a girl in the distance.

At first I brush it aside thinking the late had been playing games with my mind.

But the further north I get the louder the sound gets.

I make my way towards the sound, keeping my eyes to the empty streets.

Only when I get close enough to hear her shallow breathing, I realize she must be on top of the flat roof I'm standing on.

I spot a small chimney and I make my way over to it.

As I turn the corner I catch a glimpse of a girl in red and black.

"Ladybug?" I call out in question. She looks up at me with tears streaming down her cheeks.

My heart aches as turns away, hiding her face from me.

"I-I'm fine Chat, go away," she mumbles.

I drop to my knees and gather her up in my arms.

"It's ok, I'm right here…" I hold her close to my chest, rubbing circles into her back.

"I thought I lost you!" she sobs.

"You can't get rid of me that easy, m'lady."

Ladybug jerks away and a sudden sharp pain strikes my cheek. Ladybug glares with sheer rage in her eyes.

"How could you possibly joke about something like this?!
