I loved Laguna Beach, California. It was sunny and warm, and no one would suspect me. I could sunbathe while every boy on the beach eyed me in my bikini. Though they were slow at coming up to me today. I sighed. They would come eventually.
I loved toying with boys. I usually did brothers or best friends, because two was just so much better than one. There was Kevin and Jason, Kyle and Daniel, Doug and Stewart. The list was endless.
But the two I remembered the most were Stefan and Damon Salvatore. I smiled. Yes, they had to have been the most fun. Now they were doomed to spend together, forever hating each other. Though it seemed they had moved on to my descendent Elena.
Elena looked just like me, with her long brown hair and her brown eyes and her olive skin. The only differences were that my hair was in curls while hers was straight, and I was a vampire while she was a puny, worthless human. Somehow, though, she seemed to have the Salvatores over me and all over her. Which was why all three of them were going to die along with the rest of the tomb vampires, thanks to John Gilbert and another descendent of mine, Isobel. Oh, and that witch Bonnie. I guess Emily's oath to me extended to her descendent, too, even if the descendent didn't know just how much she was helping me.
I was hungry. I looked around me, and noticed a boy barely eighteen staring at my body. You want to come talk to that girl in the bikini, I told him. My powers were so strong that I could compel through humans' thought processes. You want to ask her out right now.
"Hi," the boy said from above me. "I'm Jake." Finally!
"I'm Katherine." I gave him my brilliant, fake smile, the one that always made boys swoon.
"You wanna eat lunch?" he asked me. "I was going to meet my friend Dustin-"
"I would love to have lunch with you and your friend Dustin," I told him. Jackpot. Like I said, two was better than one.
"Here, my car's this way." He pointed at a red Lamborghini in the parking lot.
"Okay, I'm coming." Lunch.
