Cat's Soul
Chapter One-The Beginning of the End
A small young cat crawled loftily into the shade of an old willow tree. Its branches brushed the ground with soft long leaves and its bark left a certain smell of sweet summer. The cat curled up by its trunk and rested his head between his paws with his tail curled around his back legs and his eyes sad and neglected. His dark fur let off no gleam, and his ears were scratched and lay flat against his head as he breathing calmed once again. "Humans." he whispered. "Humans heed my word! Your time as rulers is near the end. I am finally back. I have returned. The nightmare has yet begun for you." He closed his weary eyes and stretched under the safety and comfort of the willow. "Nature has treated me well." He mused sleepily. "I shall reward it in return. When I become ruler, the trees shall live forever! All those who stand in my path will no longer be cherished, and will die under my striking claws. Their blood shall spill over the ground where they stood and soil the grass with filth." He concluded with another sharp breath. "Nature shall have its comeback as well."
The next event that night was a chill wind that blew by and ruffled the leaves with the scent of death. Everything seemed dark and sad.
