"Albus Dumbledore! Surely you aren't thinking of separating them?" Minerva McGonagall was shocked as she looked at the man who had just arrived. "Be reasonable! If Lily and James are really…" Her voice and stern exterior broke for a moment, "If they are really dead, than they are all each other have in the world now!"
"Not quite my dear McGonagall," he glanced at the house they were talking in front of. She looked as well then a look of horror came over her face.
"Oh no! You are not possibly thinking of leaving them with these… with this Family! They are absolutely horrid! I have been watching them all day and oh no Dumnledore you cannot leave the Potter children here!" He gave her a look and she stopped talking. "I am not leaving the Potter children here," she gave a sigh of relief, "I am only leaving Harry," Minerva looked furious but before she could being talking again, he continued, "I know it is not the ideal situation. But I do not believe that Voldemort-" Minerva shivered, he shot her a perturbed look, "Really now it is just a name, but as I was saying… I do not believe that he is gone" Her eyes went huge, "Yes, he will be back and it is for their safety that they Must be Separated. The protection on Harry in particular will only work if he stays here with his aunt. He Must Stay Here. Now where is Hagrid? He's late!" He checked his watch, then looked up at the sky.
"Are you sure it is wise to trust Hagrid…?"
"I would trust Hagrid with my life, oh! Here he is now!" A loud roaring filled the sky and a flying object came into view. Soon it was identifiable as a motorbike with an abnormally large man riding it. "Sorry I'm late, borrowed this from Sirius Black." He got off and smiled at the two, "'Ello Professors!" Dumbledore smiled back, Hagrid turned to pick up something out of the sidecar. Cradling it gently, he walked back to Dumbledore, "'eres Harry sir," The three adults looked down at the little baby in Hagrid's arms, he had a small lightning bolt on his forehead. Minerva looked alarmed, "Dumbledore, is that where…?
"Yes,"
"Isn't there anything that you can do…?"
"No, besides, I have found that scars come in handy. I have one that is a perfect map of the London underground," Minerva smiled down at the little baby, before walking over to the sidecar and peering down. Another baby, a girl and much younger, was also fast asleep. She leaned down to pick up the second baby, and held her to her chest. The little one smiled, and the woman felt her eyes well up. "Dumbledore, where will she go?" He smiled at the baby girl, "Don't worry Minerva, she will not be without love. Aurelia Lovegood has offered to take her in," Minerva looked alarmed,
"Now I know the Lovegoods are a perfectly nice family but are they… I mean they are a little… Xenophilius is… prepared for this?"
"I have talked to both, and they are overjoyed. They have assured me that they will love this little girl equally as their own, and Minerva we all expect that you and her godmother will visit often? Yes?" At this Minerva looked overjoyed,
"Yes of course!" Hagrid hestitantly stepped forward,
"Professor Dumbledore, sir, it'll be gettin light soon," the old man looked up,
"Why yes indeed it will! Well… it is time," He took Harry from Hagrid and laid him gently against the door of the house with a letter, "A letter? You really think you can explain all of this in a letter?" Dumbledore ignored her. Hagrid took what seemed to be a tablecloth and blew his nose loudly, "Oh now… Hagrid, it'll be alright!"
"Is just so sad!" Minerva tightened her grip on the baby still in her arms,
"Yes… yes it is sad…"
"It is time to say goodbye, good luck Harry" Dumbledore turned to McGonagall, eyes looking misty, and held out his arms. She reluctantly put the other child into his arms and then took a step backwards. "I will see her again, will I see him?"
"In time, I have no doubt that you will see him again."
