His Everything

Disclaimer: Have you read my depressing stories? I obviously do not own Naruto. Dattebayo!

The flower in death blooms more beautifully in the days before it faces demise at the cold hands of winter than it ever does in the warmth of summer. The last moments are spent in terrible beauty waiting for the frost to overtake the petals.

Once she had been his everything, his connection to Konoha village and the real reason he had come back. But glass always shatters and love proved the same when his birthright caught up to him and wielded death on the people closest to his heart. Fate had mocked him with promises of love and happiness even though all the people he loved inevitably left him. His wife Sakura, his mother, his father, Itachi, and Naruto the man he had once considered his brother. All he had left of Sakura was his newborn son, hidden in the tent he had been born in. Born on a battlefield, hidden in a tent while his mother's emerald eyes closed for the final time and The Cherry Blossom of Konoha slept in death.

"Sakura stay in the tent" Sasuke said as he heard a small noise. He looked at his beloved wife holding their newborn son in her arms. He wiped his face of all emotion as he pulled the tent flap back, and came face to face with a circle of Stone-nin around the campsite.

The sound of a 1000 birds filled the clearing like a death toll.

Within minutes all of the shinobi lay dead their blood staining the earth scarlet. Sasuke turned away deactivating his Sharingan. He failed to notice one of the shinobi standing up and unsheathing his sword until it was too late.

SHHH! THUNK! Sasuke's fragile heart shattered when he heard the sound of a katana sliding into flesh. He turned and saw Sakura standing behind him staring at the katana embedded in her chest, her blood blooming like a red rose around the sword. He caught her in his arms as they both fell.

"Sa-Sasuke" She turned to him and her eyes were distant, far off; and that scared him more than anything.

"Sakura…"

" Kagetsu" He looked down in to the evergreen orbs he cherished and understood it was the name of their child.

"Wo Ai Ni, Sasuke" she whispered as her eyes fluttered shut and she let darkness overtake her, and died.

'goodbye Sasuke'

That night a village receded within itself and a raven haired man made a promise to never love again as clouds drew over the sunny spirit of Konohakagure.
