Wrote this for the Criminal Minds weekly prompt! Let me know what you think!
"I knew it was you," Emily exclaimed storming over to Derek with JJ and Garcia on either side.
"What?" Derek questioned as he looked up to see three annoyed females. "I didn't do anything."
"Sure, and I'm the President," Garcia huffed.
"The evidence is right there," JJ said while she pointed at Derek's desk.
He looked down in confusion. "What are you talking about?"
"You know damn well what I'm talking about," Garcia said, her face turning red enough to match her hair.
"Baby girl, I don't understand," Derek stammered, looking like a wounded animal. What man wanted to deal with three angry females?
"What's going on?" Reid asked innocently.
"I have no idea," Derek said, clearly frustrated.
"THIS is what we're talking about," JJ stated as she flicked some crumbs off Derek's desk.
"That does explain the mystery," Rossi said approaching them.
"What mystery?" Derek demanded.
"There was a box, of 24 cookies by the coffee and now they're all gone. And the evidence is on your desk!" Emily growled.
"Wait, what? Cookies?" Derek asked in obvious confusion. Damn, if he was going to get blamed for eating the cookies, it wouldn't be so bad if he'd actually gotten a taste of them.
"Oh, don't play dumb," JJ said as she stomped off.
"We were looking forward to those cookies," Garcia and Emily followed in suit.
Derek watched after them, mouth open in a oh of surprise.
That's when he heard the laughter. He turned his head to look over at Reid as Rossi left to go speak with Hotch.
"What are you laughing at?" Derek asked, still confused.
Reid snorted as he turned his back on Derek.
"It was you!" Derek accused.
Reid smirked as he opened his front drawer to show a bunch of cookies.
"You're so easy to frame, sprinkle a few crumbs," Reid broke off, his face going red with the effort it took to not laugh.
"JJ! Emily! Garcia!" Derek yelled, jumping up from his seat.
JJ was the first one that came back. "What?" she asked.
Emily and Garcia raised their eyebrows as Derek began to stammer.
"Reid. Cookies .Desk. Not. Me."
"Reid?" JJ shook her head. "Oh come on, Reid wouldn't do a thing like that."
"Look!" Derek shouted as he walked over to Reid's desk.
"Derek! Leave Reid alone," Garcia said, throwing her head back and walking away.
Derek growled in annoyance when he saw Reid take off. Smart move. But he was already blamed for the cookies, right? It couldn't hurt to have one.
When Reid made it into the conference room, the girls were in hysterical laughter and he, too, was having a hard time controlling it. Rossi came in and arched an eyebrow at the scene before him.
"Let me guess," Rossi started off...
"I can't believe his expression!" Reid exclaimed causing the girls to laugh even more.
"You guys all set him up!" Rossi shook his head. No one missed the smile that appeared on his face.
"Yep, now to go finish the job," Emily said with a laugh.
They walked out of the room to see Derek, cookie in his mouth, doing his paper work.
"Aha!" JJ yelled.
"Caught with your hand in the cookie jar," Reid said, his lips twitching.
"I knew it!" Garcia said, in fake anger, stomped off.
"What? I? No! It's not what you think!" Derek cried out. But it was too late, they'd all left the room, leaving a confused Derek to stare after them.
