This is seriously short, but I thought it would be cute ^^

"Daddy! Why do we have no Mommy?" Rin asked on a quiet Mother's day. Or it would be quiet if Shiro hadn't taken two kindergartners under his wing. Every since he took in the twins, things had never been the same. One day, Rin was drawing on the walls, the next, Yukio had spilled juice on the carpet, then after that Rin wasn't willing to take his nap, such things as that. Every day.

The twins-Rin and Yukio-were just five-years old. They had never heard of the holiday, but now that they were in school, everyone was talking about their Mother's.

"What did you say? You're so short, I can't hear you!" Shiro joked. He didn't want to answer the child's question. His child's question. But he knew, as their Father, he would have to answer the question, as well as many more to come. He couldn't afford to mess up, for Yuri's sake.

"Daddy!" Rin whined.

"You know that I told you already. I found you under a bridge, and you were in a watermelon," Shiro said.

"That was a lie!" Rin exclaimed.

"Daddy, what is Mother's day?" Yukio asked, much quieter. Shiro was thankful that at least one of his sons were quiet.

"Mother's day is when you celebrate your Mother's, and all the nice things they do for you, you return it," Shiro said.

"But Daddy, we have no Mommy to celebrate," Yukio told him.

"Then we'll celebrate our own little day, just for us three," Shiro suggested. The boys smiled-though Rin's smile was more like a grin, baring his teeth-and hugged their foster Father.

"We love you, Daddy!" the boys exclaimed simultaneously. With that, Shiro smiled. He held them in his arms after kneeling, and ruffled their hair.

"Your Mommy would be proud. What do you two think she looked like?" Shiro asked.

"I bet Mommy looked just like Yukio!" Rin exclaimed.

"And what about your Father?" Shiro asked.

"You're my Daddy, silly," Rin said, blinking. Shiro couldn't help but cackle.

"Of course," he told the kindergartner.

After they had spent some time together-helping with homework before everyone sat down for dinner, such things like that-he put them to bed. Shiro sat at both of the sleeping boys` bedsides for moments on end. He stroked each of their hair as he spoke softly, almost inaudibly.

"Good job, Yuri. You would be so proud at how wonderful these boys are becoming."
