Just a little something I wrote for Zemyx Day while listening to Owl City. ^-^ It's probably not that good, but read please?
'I'd like to make myself believe, that planet Earth turns slowly. It's hard to say that I'd rather stay awake when I must sleep, 'cause everything is never as it seems—'
"Hello?" Demyx answered his cell phone.
"Demyx what are you doing up in the middle of the night, skipping through Marluxia's garden?" Zexion's stern voice said.
Demyx blinked twice. "How'd you know I was out here, Zexy?" He asked curiously.
A sigh. "I can see you from my room."
The Melodious Nocturne looked up toward the towering castle behind him, seeing the lilac haired Nobody leaning out of his window with his cell phone pressed up against his ear. "Oh. Hi Zexy!" He waved.
He gave a short half-hearted wave in return. "You haven't answered me, what in the World That Never Was are you doing out there? Marluxia will kill you if he finds out it was you who trampled his flowers." He demanded.
"I'm playing with the fireflies!" Demyx giggled, gesturing to the blinking lights flying around his head.
"Why am I not surprised? Now, listen. You need to get back inside before the Superior finds out you're outside after curfew." He frowned.
"Aw come on Zexy! Lighten up! Just like the fireflies, it's so cool when their butts light up like that. I wish I could do that, Zexy. Do you wish your butt could light up like a firefly's too? Because I think that that would be pretty awesome, I mean, all you'd need to do would be to grow wings and then you could be just like a firefly and—"
"Demyx." Zexion snapped, getting slightly irritated.
"Oh right, sorry…" The hyperactive Nobody laughed nervously. "Hey, you wanna come down here and watch the fireflies with me?" He suggested.
"No."
"Aww, please?"
"No."
"Zeeeexxxyyyyyyyy~!"
"No."
"Zexion, get out here right now before I flood your entire room, including your My Chemical Romance and Linkin Park CDs." He warned in a dangerously serious tone.
Demyx could see the death glare the Cloaked Schemer had on, even from his place in Marluxia's dark garden floors and floors below Zexion's room. "… fine…" He spat, hanging up his phone and disappearing from his window. The sandy haired Nobody giggled as his shorter companion stepped out of a portal in front of him.
"Yay!" He cried, hugging him. Zexion fought back a blush from the close contact. It's not like he liked Demyx, no, it wasn't that at all. Anybody would feel that way if such an adorable person were clinging to them for dear life. Nobodies didn't have feelings anyway… "Ooh! Zexy! Look!" Demyx pointed at the sky, where the little blobs of light were grouping together. The lilac haired Nobody allowed himself to smile and Demyx's childishness. But then he raised an eyebrow as the fireflies started assembling to make heart-shapes around the twos' heads.
He glanced over at Demyx to see that he was rather closer than he'd been a few moments ago. The other boy just smiled at him and discreetly weaved his fingers into Zexion's hand. The Schemer's eyes widened slightly, and he was positive that if he had a heart, it would be just about bursting out of his chest. "Dem, what are you—"
But he was cut off by Demyx's lips covering his own. He gasped, but didn't pull away. The sandy blond moved his hand behind Zexion's neck too deepen the kiss. After some time, the shorter boy slowly wrapped his arms around his taller friend's neck, kissing back just as eagerly. They momentarily parted and looked into each other's eyes, breathing heavily, some foreign emotion in each gaze. They whispered each other's names, and their lips met again, and again, each kiss even more passionate as the last.
'If this is what love feels like, then have we all had hearts all along?' They thought at the same time.
^-^ I think it's cute. Anybody else? Review please!
