My first oneshot-songfic.
If you try listening to the song while reading, it's all good. :)
song: Just Another One - Rocket to the Moon
She started dancing at the second that she heard the music play.
(She's always moving)
A gorgeous brunnette pushes into the dance floor, waving her hands and pulsing to the beat. Her hair is the glossiest, her eyes the prettiest, her cheeks the rosiest. Immediatly, a bunch of guys abandon their dates and surround her.
She looks at me but then I look back at her
She turns away
(She knows exactly what she's doing)
I couldn't believe it. The most wanted girl at school. Looks at me. The cute but unpopular new kid. The quiet guy. This was my chance to win her heart. I've been watching from a far for too long.
She moves closer and I'm thinking to myself that she's all mine
(She's all mine)
Ok, big guy. You can do this. Smile at her and breath. In, out. In, out. In- God, she was gorgeous. Out. In, Out. You can do this. Its just a dance.
We start talking and she takes my hand like she does this all the time.
My throat hitches and my hands get clammy. Had she felt the same spark I had? I look into her amber eyes, a devilish glint to it. She aqueezes my hand lightly, and I knew it was now or never. I lean closer and--
Go! Go! Go!
You never had the time because you move too slow
She swirls out of your grasp and saunters to him. You hate yourself right about now, 'cause you were too late. You scan the crowd, desperately hoping to find her. When you finally find her, you cross your fingers and hope that she'll turn back to look at you, blushing.
And I know, know, know
That she could care less about love
It's just for fun
I'm just another one
You stop swaying to the beat of the song and freeze. There she is. Your big dream girl. Dancing with another guy. In lip-lock with another soon. And now you know.
She doesn't give a shit about love.
No, he's just another one.
Another one of her toys.
A boy toy.
Cause she can't
Ever fall in love
Cause this is who she is
And this is all she knows
Josh smirked to himself as a very drunken Massie made out with Kemp, Cam, and Plovert, during an insane round of Spin the Bottle. He was going to have to get over her. Leave while he had some dignity left. Let her kiss a hundred guys. He wouldn't care any more.
It was true that Massie would never fall in love with Josh.
But it was also true that Massie would never fall in love with anybody.
I'm just another one
Maybe I was another one of her may be an outcast. He may not be popular. But at least he'll know that somebody will love him someday.
Josh lowered himself to the comfy couch and tried to look at anyone but Massie. A blond, blue-eyed girl walked right up to him, ignoring Massie's squeals and everyone else's cruel put downs.
He looked up her innocent face, ocean blue meeting chocolate brown.
"You want to dance?" She said, her tinkling voice barely a whisper.
Josh looked from Massie to this blond girl, debating on what to say.
And I could care less about her
She's just another one.
He smiled at this new girl and got up from the couch. He carefully placed his hands on her tiny wasit, and they swayed. He looked over at Massie, who, (even in her drunken state), was staring at him angrily, wondering why he was dancing with her friend, and not her.
And I could care less about her
She's just another one.
"What was your name again?" Josh asked, carefully playing with her hair.
"Claire." She replied simply, before pressing her lips to his.
She's just another one. Another song in the music of my life.
Eh. I skippped some of the lyrics in the song.
Review?
