His Cake

~His Cake~
His day looked so much better now. His wife was still in bed, the dog curled up by her side. So he slowly sat up, silently cheering in his head. Without make the slightest noise, he crept out of bed.
Out of the bedroom, through the hall, past the restroom, take a left, and there's the kitchen! Finally free! He joyfully ran to the refrigerator, not even bothering to turn on the lights.
Cake! His beloved chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and oreos on top! He licked his lips and took out a giant spoon from the utensils drawer. He didn't even bother to get a plate.
He opened the refrigerator in a hurry, for his wife was an early riser and would wake at any noise. So with that in mind, he quickly dug his spoon in the cake, planning to take a huge piece and swallow it whole. But alas, his plan was ruined, for the lights flickered on and he heard a feminine voice pipe up, "Close the fridge and no one gets hurt."
He turned around to see his beautiful wife by the light switch with a smirk on her face. He groaned and shut the refrigerator, cursing his luck and abondoning his spoon and cake.
His blonde wife rolled her eyes and walked forward, stopping when she reached the refrigerator. She opened it, took out the cake, then turned to to drop it in the trash bin, spoon and all.
"M-my cake!" he collapsed on the floor and stared in horror at his wife, the woman he loved, the traitor. She merely shrugged.
"Go back to bed. It's still too early to be awake." and with that, she left him to mourn the loss of his dear cake.
"Did I mention it had oreos?" he called out meekly, already trudging back to bed with a broken heart.
Why does he have to be a soccer player on a diet?
