"Donnie, have you made a mutation that can mutate Karai back to normal?" Leo asked
"No, not yet, but I'm pretty sure it should be done soon" Donnie said with a smile
This went on for a couple of months, every day Leo went into Donnie's tiny lab and asked the same question.
And every time he got the same answer. Leo didn't mean to rush Donnie, he just missed he adoptive sister, and
secretly the love of his life.
But on 97th time Leo asked, he got an heart warming answer.

"Oh Leo," Donnie said with a humming tone in his voice.

As Leo herd the news, he discussed the plan to the team.
"Ok, we'll split up, Raft you go east, Mikey west, me and Donnie will go north with the mutagen since that's where karai will most likely be
due to the invasion. No one go into the main street or you'll be trapped by the Craang. Also make sure to check in the ally ways too".

"Your the boss" Rafh said with a little pout.

"Keep your Tphone on you at all times, but only for emergency's" Leo said with such strength.

Before they could begin to split up, they all heard a slight hissing sound in one of the ally ways.
As all the turtles came upon the ally way, something hissed a wild hiss at Mikey.

"Whoa easy Karai, its me, Mikey".

"Karai!", Leo said. Calm down its us, your friends."
As Leo tried to grab Karai, she rushed into Donnie, who was holding the mutagen and it spilled all over karai plus all the turtles.
"What's going on?" Leo said as the mutagen started streaming into his vanes.
All the turtles plus karai started changing quickly.
Karai quickly turned back human and started coughing like crazy.
"Karai!", Leo yelled as he grabbed her up from the floor and started hugging her.
"Are you ok, how do you feel." Donnie asked.

As she looked up at Leo she was speechless.
Leo noticed karai starting to blush as he lifted her up. This was the first time Leo saw Karai scared.
For some reason she seemed heavier then before.
Karai looked around at the rest of the brothers quickly while still in Leo's grip.
She looked up at Leo's deep blue eyes and tried so hard not to blush even more.
"Are you ok Karai," Mikey asked.
Karai looked down at Leo's hands that where holding her. She noticed Leo had hands, and even hair!
She looked at the other brothers, and she saw the same thing. Each boy had hair, both Donnie's and
Raph's hair dark brown, Leo's black, and little Mikey's blonde.

"Karai answer me" Leo said. "Are you ok"?
She finally spoke.

"I can ask you the same question Leo" she said, stuttering a bit from Leo's touch.
"What do you mean?" Leo asked

Before she could answer, Mikey spoke up, answering Leo's question.

"Oh my gosh dudes, we have hands!"
Each brother looked at each other, noticing they were all human.

"When the mutagen spilled all over us, it didn't just turn Karai human" Donnie said.
Karai shivered against Leo's dark blue tank.
Leo looked down at karai. She had been blushing because he was human.
"Common, we have to tell master Splinter ."

"Splinter", Leo yelled as he entered the dojo.
He and his bothers looked every where, but all they found was a note.

Dear, Sons
I have left to complete a mission with the shredder.
I wont be back for a couple of months, but don't worry. I will come back
as soon as my mission is completed.

After Leo and the others read the note they started with their normal routine.
"Come karai, you can share my room for now until we find a place you could call your
room". Leo expected karai to say one of her flirty responses, but instead she just nodded
softly while he carried her to his room.
He set karai on his bed and asked her if she wanted anything.

"N-No I'm fine" she said. But as soon as he heard her stomach growl, he knew she was starving. Leo headed to the kitchen and grabbed
a bowl of soup and a glass of water. As he entered the room, he saw that karai had helped herself to grab one of Leo's most prized comic books. He rushed to karai and took his comic back. " No, no, no, You cant ju-". He stopped himself from yelling at her, forgetting that she
wasn't Mikey. Karai jumped a bit when Leo got angry. He had never really expressed his anger to her that way, and she didn't like it.
Karai felt hurt by how Leo reacted, she didn't want to cry but she couldn't stop one tear from falling.

Leo felt guilty for how he acted, and from the corner of his eye he saw a tear fly down Karai's cheek. 'Oh gosh' Leo thought to himself.
Leo sat beside Karai and hugged her. "Sorry" he whispered into her ear softy. "Oh, and here." Leo handed her soup and water.

She ate silently while Leo stared at her with amazement. When she was finished she handed to bowl and cup to Leo and said thank you.
"Do you have any pjs I could wear"? she asked politely
"I might have a shirt in my closet you could wear".
She looked though his closet and sure enough she found a long black shirt.
She sat by Leo on the bed with the shirt in her hand and waited. " Are you going to change" he asked
Karai blushed a little and staired at the floor. Leo blushed as soon as he realized why she wasn't changing.
He covered his eyes with his human hands and told her to go ahead.
"So how do you feel being a human" she asked as she dropped her armor on the floor.
"Its hard to get used to right now but I'm sure ill get the hang of it"
As soon as karai said she was done, Leo opened his eyes and watched her pick up her armor.
He saw how the shirt covered her completely. Karai noticed his eyes where fixed on her and tripped on a pen on the floor.
Leo jumped out to catch her but then realized he wasn't a turtle anymore. He fell strait on his back and karai fell on his stomach.
Karai giggled, " Are you ok?" Leo blushed from embarrassment and helped karai get up.
"Here you can sleep on my bed and ill sleep in the dojo." But before he shut the door, karai said something.
"Leo".
"Yah"
"I-I think-k you should-d..."
"go on' Leo said
"Maybe we could share the bed, I don't think its fare to take over your room"
Leo blushed " I-I guess we could"
Both teens hopped into bed and faced each other. " I had missed you" Leo said with a smile." I did too, its too lonely being a snake"
Leo laughed and looked into her dark amber eyes.
And with that, he planted a kiss right on karai's cheek.
