Note: this is more of a walkthrough, or game evaluation. Not a story.
Chapter 1,
Ok, I guess if I want to do "Invader" pages for several games, then this is the one that I really should start with. My GameCube copy of The Fairly Odd Parents Breakin' Da Rules.
I've own this game forever, I must have played it a good 50-100 times, and I learned how to find most of everything there. Plus, playing this game over and over gives me ideas for FOP stories specifically involving Vicky.
Alright, an as I have mentioned already, this is not a story. I have to repeat that because on another page a writer wrote a comment about how this isn't a story, though in the description it tells everyone that it's a study, not a story.
If you are still going to read, then I welcome you to enjoy it, and heck maybe even play for yourself. Everyone good? Good.
New game.
Ok, so we start the game with a video introduction. Timmy is sitting on his bed, asleep, and Cosmo and Wanda are floating above him.
Wanda: Time to get up, sleepy head!
Cosmo: I didn't know Timmy had different heads...
Timmy: Aaahhh... just another day or two...
Wanda: You have to get up, Timmy - we have to prepare!
Timmy's Mom: Timmy! We're leaving for our, uh, seminar weekend!
Timmy's Dad: Duty calls! We certainly won't be having any fun this weekend!
Timmy: Mom and Dad are away this weekend. That means something important. Oh no! Vicky! She's here! My brain is numb with horror! You two go stall her while I think of something!
Wanda: No can do, Timmy - you know we can't be seen by anyone but you.
Cosmo: (poofs Da Rules, flash says "Literally!") Dem's da rules, see?
Timmy: Rules! This is no time for rules! I wish we didn't have to follow those stupid rules!
Cosmo: You got it! (Points wand at book and it falls on the ground)
(Flash says "Plot Device!")
Timmy: I'm betting this isn't good news...
Cosmo: I'm betting this is really great news! But I'm not betting much.
(Newspaper spins into frame which says "The Fairy Times. Really, Really Bad News!")
Wanda: It says here that your wish broke Da Rules so badly that the next person to touch them will steal the wish power of the fairies stupid enough to grant such a silly wish!
(Camera pans to the stairs and we see Vicky coming up them)
Timmy: Noooooooooooo! (Rushes, in slow motion, to the book. Vicky steps into the frame, hand on Timmy's head and picks up the book.)
Vicky: Okay, twerp, here's how it's going to be, I'm in charge, and you're NOTHING! Got it?
Timmy: I wish Vicky didn't have that book!
Vicky: Well I wish you were still in bed asleep so I wouldn't have to deal with you and your freaky, disgusting habits. (Vicky closes Timmy's door)
Cosmo: We're in trouble! (Room changes) Now we're in trouble in Timmy's dreams! (Starts spinning) Now we're spinning around in trouble in Timmy's dreams - Weeeee!
Wanda: This is serious business... It's only a matter of time before someone finds out what happens and we end up...
(Room changes to a court room, and flash says "Irony!") ...in Fairy Court!
(Cosmo and Wanda are in 'The Naughty Godparents' seat and Timmy is in the 'Godkid seat')
Cosmo: Yay! We get to see the judge serve up hot, creamy justice for some unsuspecting creep! (The label for Cosmo and Wanda change to 'Some Unsuspecting Creeps') Some... unsuspecting... creeps - Wow! I didn't see that coming.
Jorgen: Silence puny fairy!
Cosmo: Wow! I saw that coming!
Wanda: Jorgen Von Strangle! The most feared Fairy Drill Instructor this side of the Galaxy of Really Unpleasant Fairy Drill Instructors!
Timmy: Don't worry. I'll talk is out of it...
Judge: Order! Order! The case of the Fairies versus Cosmo and Wanda is in session. All rise! Cosmo and Wanda, you have been accused of losing your copy of Da Rules... how do you plea?
Cosmo: I'll plea backwards! Eem truh t'nod zeelp! (Please don't hurt me)
Jorgen: Silence! Any plea other than 'Guilty' will be met by loud shouting and a terrifying display of my muscle tone!
Wanda: I think he means it...
Judge: Jorgen Von Strangle... you may begin the persecution.
Jorgen: Thank you, your honor. I call to the stand little Timmy Turner. (Timmy's at the stand) Timmy, did your fairy godparents lose their copy of Da Rules?
Timmy: Yes, but...
Jorgen: HE SAYS YES!
Judge: The court finds the accused guilty, and sentences them to forty nine and a half hours of impunity service to recover the missing copy of Da Rules, or lose their Fairy Licenses forever!
Cosmo: Um, what was the first choice again?
Jorgen: Hand in your wands! (Cosmo and Wanda hand in their wands, flash says 'Disappear!') And your backup wands... (pulls wands out of their back pocket and turns those in, flash says 'Vanish!') Now tiny fairies- you can take these training wands AND GET OUT OF MY SIGHT!
(Back in Timmy's dream, flash says 'Gone!')
Wanda: Forty nine and a half hours! We'll never complete the impunity service in that time, not without our real wands!
Timmy: Not with that attitude! Come on, guys - we can do this!
Cosmo: And I can do this! (Turns upside down) Ta da!
Wanda: It's going to be a long forty nine and a half hours... (flash says 'Appear!' They show information in each corner. Top left has how many stars you have captured. Top right has your crown count. Lower left has the number Crimson Chin cards you found. And finally, lower right has your number of lives.) These training wands stink! Timmy, if we're to recover all of the pages on Da Rules, we really need your help!
Timmy: What do I have to do?
Cosmo: Erm... pretty much everything! But don't worry - we can help teach you the basics!
Wanda: You can use the control stick to move around, and the C stick to look around. Just remember, if you get stuck, or you're not certain, or you see something interesting, talk to us and we'll be there with some advice.
Cosmo: Talk to us lots! Besides useful advice, we can give you all sorts of fashion tips!
Wanda: Try it now! (Flash says 'Disappear' and at the bottom of the screen it says to push the R button to talk to Godparents.) Well done. (Flash says Re-appear)
Cosmo: you're so cool!
Wanda: Let's move to the next part of the training hon.
Cosmo: But talk to us again first!
(Flash says 'Vanish' and the bottom of the screen says talk to Godparents again)
Wanda: If the universe is giving you a bad point-of-view...
Cosmo: It can be mean like that!
Wanda: ... you can adjust your view!
(Flash says 'Gone!' And the bottom of the screen says to push the L button to put the camera behind you.)
By the way, when you talk to the Godparents, they have a list of stuff that they say so it can repeat. I'll go ahead and list them off for you now.
1. Cosmo: I love it when you talk to us!
Timmy: Don't you have anything useful to say?
Cosmo: Not often - but it doesn't hurt to try!
2. Wanda: Just keep going, Timmy - you can do it!
3. Cosmo: Your dreams are fun, Timmy!
4. Wanda: We believe in you, Timmy!
Cosmo: And I also believe in ghosts, goblins, Ghouls, tigers, aliens, cornflakes and butter! But not giraffes, they're too weird.
That's it, now back to the game.
(Run to the "stairs")
Wanda: Use the jump button to climb to the top of the steps, Timmy.
(Bottom of the screen says to press the A button to jump)
Timmy: I can't jump high enough!
Wanda: You can jump twice to do a double jump, pumpkin.
Cosmo: It's twice as much fun and only two thirds the calories!
(Bottom of the screen says to push A A do perform a Double Jump. Once at the edge of the cliff, seven little 'islands' appear, along with three wooden bridges.)
Wanda: Be careful on these narrow planks, hon. You have to get across and press the big red button.
Timmy: What happens if I fall off?
Cosmo: You'll move downwards really fast! It'll be fun... err... until you hit the ground, that is.
(On the second island you get to collect your first crowns.)
Wanda: Those crowns will come in handy - they'll give us a little more magic. When we have a hundred we get enough magic to give you another attempt at a task, if you fail the first time.
Timmy: Like in video games when you get a one up?
Cosmo: That's about the size of it!
(There is 12 crowns on this island, and the next one. There are no bridges for the other islands, so your going to have to jump/double jump them.)
Wanda: Push this button.
(Push it and the flower winds down)
Wanda: Sneak past the alien - don't wake him! (Personally, I stood right in front of him, and I couldn't get him to attack me. So if he does wake up, he straightens his back and waves his arms until he falls back asleep... boring)
Cosmo: Yay! You did it! (Flash says 'Spoke too soon!') Oops, I guess dream aliens can hear me...
Wanda: You'd better get onto that plant and escape, honey!
(Go up the plant, but the alien won't chase you)
Wanda: we're almost finished - but this surface looks awfully slippery.
Cosmo: It'll be fun! Unless you fall off...
(The surface is ice with holes in it. Go in the hole and you fall to your death. I recommend hopping across to the bridge, because I find that's the best way to control where you move on surfaces like this.)
Cosmo: Those pointy things look familiar...
Wanda: They're wish stars, hon, remember?
Timmy: So if I get them, I can make a wish?
Cosmo: Sure thing, Timmy!
Wanda: But first you need five stars.
Cosmo: Then you have to stand on the special wishing circle - is that right?
Wanda: You do remember, Cosmo! I always said you're not just a pretty face.
Cosmo: I'm also a pretty body!
(Yep, five stars. There is one by the special circle, but I like to leave that one for last. The easiest one to get is on the steps, because it doesn't run away. There is another star that runs around the top area, which is the second easiest. As for the other two, there is a slanted walkway, and it may make you feel as if you will fall of the edge. Both stars run this way. One of them can run around this area in a huge circle, but you should be able to keep your eye on it. The last one likes to hide. On the slanted walkway, past the arch and in the tunnel to the right is a room. It's circular, and if you can't find the star it's probably in there. Once you have these four, go ahead and get the last star thats besides the special circle.)
Timmy: So what happens now that I have five stars?
Wanda: You can make a wish, and in return for a job well done, we get a page oh Da Rules.
Cosmo: It's twice the fun of regular wishing!
Wanda: And when we get all the pages back they'll restore our full fairy wishing powers!
(The bridge will have an easy to find Crimson Chin Card)
Timmy: Whoa! A Crimson Chin card! They're super rare!
Cosmo: I prefer them medium rare!
(Get to the wish circle, Timmy grabs Da Page and does a little dance)
Timmy: So what happens now that I have five stars?
Wanda: You can make a wish! We can't do really big wishes, but we will be able to help!
Cosmo: I like helping! And I like extra helping!
Timmy: What should I wish now?
Wanda: You could undo Vicky's wish for starters...
Timmy: Great idea! I wish I was awake! (Flash says 'Awake', and the Star pans you out of the frame. You can start saving your progress now, and it's always a good idea. After each section/game you get sent back to Timmy's house.)
Well, each chapter will be like this one going through one of the adventures Timmy needs to complete in order to save his Godparents wish power. I hope this was helpful, but if not helpful, then at least fun to see the storyline.
