CHAPTER 1: THE OFFER
JACK'S POV (MONDAY)
I walked out of Rudy's office after talking to Mr. Tanaka. He was the head master of the Otai Academy for Martial Arts. He had just offered me a paid scholarship to his school which I accepted the only problem was that it was in Japan. Man how was I going to tell my friends and most importantly how was I going to tell Kim.
"Alright everybody bring it in, Jack has a big announcement." Rudy yelled a little to giddy.
"It's a little crazy, but I just got offered a scholarship to the Otai Academy." I confessed still in shock.
"SO FULL OF PRIDE." Rudy said with a voice and face that looked like he was constipated and having an aneurism all at the same time.
"What." Kim gasped.
"But Jack… the Otai Academy is in Japan." Milton pointed out.
"Wait what are you saying Jack?" Eddie questioned confused.
"I'm moving to Japan." I quickly blurted out. *it was better to just RIP the Band-Aid off right?*
"I think my legs are gonna go, mat me Jerry." Rudy ordered with wobbly legs.
Jerry placed the mat in front of Rudy and he fell…backwards.
"Dude you gotta be more specific." Jerry stated.
We all stared at our Sensei lying on the floor.
"Well I'm going to inform my parents Kim want me to walk you home?" I asked hoping to spend some one on one time with her.
Kim bit her lip like she always does. "Sure." She said smiling.
"Cool." I smirk and we head out the door.
LINE BREAK (THRUSDAY)
"It's pretty cool that you're getting a free ride." Kim said trying to be happy for me. But I could tell it was strained.
"Yea… it's a opportunity of a life time." I admitted
"What's wrong?" She asked stopping me.
"It's just if I take this it will change everything." I sighed.
"Isn't that what you want…what you've always wanted?" Kim asked sitting down on the curb of the sidewalk.
I nodded sitting down beside her.
"Then you have to take it Jack. If it could Change your entire life and career in Martial Arts then don't worry about us.
"But it's 4 years there when I come back you will all be in collage."
"I'm sure were not going to let half a word keep us from contacting each other." Kim reassured me truthfully.
"yea I suppose your right." I sighed.
"Jack I know im right."
"I'll text you everyday even Skype." I smirk even though it's not like my others it is filled with sorrow.
"If you don't I'm buying a ticket to Japan and I'll kill ya." Kim warned/joked.
"Well in that case remind me not to text call write or skype." I grinned happily. "Well I got to go pack I'll see you tomarrow?" I questioned even though I knew the answer.
"I'll be the first one there." She confirmed.
"You proimese?" I asked holding out my Pinky.
She held her right hand up and made a first with her left then brought it to her palm. I knew what she was doing and I did it as well. This ment more to me then a 'PINKY PROMISE'
"We swear by the light of the dragon's eye… to be loyal and honest and never say die WASABI" he recited in unison. Probably for the last time.
