Chapter 1

Pudding hated being sick.

Normally nothing could put a damper on her happy-go-lucky attitude, but she found it hard to be constantly cheerful when she was coughing, had a stuffed nose and was stuck in bed all day without any company. Her friends had been very sorry to hear that she was sick and had decided to help her out. Lettuce and Ichigo had promised to see her siblings safely to and from school. Zakuro had pre-made dinner so Pudding only had to heat it up and didn't put herself under too much stress while she was sick and Mint had promised to come and check up on her after school, before she went to the café.

After Lettuce and Ichigo had left with her brothers and sister, Pudding tried to take a nap, but after 10 minutes of tossing and turning she gave up and began to read a book. This kept her occupied until lunch. When her stomach began to growl she got out of bed, pulled on a sweater and slippers, and went down to the kitchen. She made herself some instant soup, put some crackers on a plate, placed both on a tray, and took her lunch with her as she went back up to bed.

After she was done her lunch, Pudding fell asleep, but she didn't get much time to sleep before she was woken by a smashing sound. She sat up, looking around. Pudding saw that the tray with her lunch dishes on it was no longer on her bedside table and she could hear someone moving around in the kitchen. She slipped out of bed and into her slippers, being as quiet as she could. She walked down the hall and as she reached to top of the stairs, she could hear whoever was in the kitchen muttering to themselves.

Using her acrobatic prowess to her advantage, Pudding slid quietly down the railing. She tiptoed down the hall and stopped just outside the kitchen door. Slowly, and as discretely as she could, Pudding looked around the corner, into the kitchen. When she saw who was in there, she walked right in without a second thought. The brown haired boy, who stood a few feet away from her with his back to her, did not noticed her appearance, that is, until she spoke.

"Tar-Tar?"
