So this is a little fic that I wrote. You could call it a songfic, I guess. Anyway, it's strongly based on Frozen and can have some spelling and grammar mistakes. This fic also suggests that Frozen came out like 100 years ago, so that's a thingy :3

Almost his whole life, Edmund had been hiding behind mean comments, harsh faces and detachment, stronger than you've ever seen before. He knew that his

parents and siblings thought he didn't love (or even like) them. How very wrong they were. Everything, every step, every careful move he made had been to

protect his family.

It had all started when Edmund was four. One day in the winter, when he and his older siblings had gone outside to play and there was no ice, he just had

stood there, thinking of ice to skate on, and suddenly he was standing on it. It had been amazing. Edmund hadn't told Peter or Susan, who hadn't been

looking, because he wanted to figure out what it was first. It went good for quite some time, two, maybe three years. The time came that Lucy was old

enough to play outside too, and the siblings were very close. Another regular day came and Edmund had decided to go play outside on his own. He had seen a

beautiful young deer, and had run to it, but he tripped. While he moved his hands forward to catch himself, an icicle had come out of his hand and hit the little

deer. Three seconds later, it was completely frozen. Edmund, who had been terrified, had seen his mommy and daddy, frozen like that, or Peter, Susan and

even Lucy. He had decided to keep his distance, and ever since, he had kept his promise to himself.

Years later (in Narnia)

"Edmund!" Susan yelled. Edmund was halfway on the stairs. He stiffened, but didn't look around. He just stood there, his richly decorated cape around him, his

silver crown on his head. "Edmund. We know your secret, Aslan told us. You don't have to stay away from us anymore. We understand now, we can be close

again. As close as we were when we were younger." Lucy added. She, Susan and Peter were standing on the first step. Edmund did turn around this time.

"That you know" he said, "doesn't change me. If you know, than you also know why we cannot be close. I'm sorry" he said, and his eyes told his siblings that

he really was. They would never know, but Edmund missed the time that he could hug his siblings, that he could cry into their chest, that he could laugh with

them, even more than the other three Pevensies. The past years had been incredibly lonely and sad; he had to shut everyone out and couldn't even explain

why. Suddenly, Susan remembered a song from a movie that she had watched with Peter, Edmund and Lucy when they lived in England. Edmund had loved the

movie. He had never said it out loud, but if you looked at him (and the amount of times he had watched the movie) it was pretty clear.

Please don't shut us out again
Please don't slam the door
You don't have to keep your distance anymore
Cause for the first time in forever
We finally understand
For the first time in forever
We can fix this hand in hand
We can head down this mountain together
You don't have to live in fear
Cause for the first time in forever
We will be right here

Peter remembered the song too. He missed his brother as he had been when they were younger, and wanted to help him. All those years, this boy had carried

a weight on his shoulder that was way too heavy for his age. That's why he felt his heart tighten when Edmund sadly shook his head, turned around and

continued climbing the stairs. Alone.

That was that. I know, it's sad. Poor Ed :(
What did you think?
