Heru'ur son of Ra and Hathor sat silently while his first prime Keal told him of urgent matters concerning his planet Korin. Sokar's army of jaffa had grown to over 10,000 strong in the last 50 years. An allegiance with Yu and Cronus had proved a large problem with Heru'ur and the other system lords. The planet Korin had many rich mines of naquada and willing slaves to mine them. It was also situated in the system that many of Yu's jaffa were populated on the nearby planets. Heru'ur jaffa had defended the planet Korin for many of years, but slowly but surely they were losing. And there was no way that Sokar or Yu would give up such a good planet.
How couldIdefend such an army? thought Heru'ur.The planet Korin had a moon, Draka. On the surface there are deep valleys and canyons that thousands of jaffa even mother ships could hide in.
Could that be the advantage I need? he thought
Heru'ursnapped back to attention as his first prime stepped back from the thrown, his report finished.
"Send word to the jaffa on the planet, order them to leave there posts and go to Korin's moon" said Heru'ur.
"My lord I believe that would be folly. Sokar would surely find the jaffa and wouldn't waste a breath before destoying the moon itself. Forgive me but I do not believe that there is anyway to withstand Sokar's attacks. Korin is lost my lord we must retreat to a safer part of the galaxy as soon as possible" stuttered Kael.
Heru'ur was surprised by Kael's eagerness to just pick up and leave after all the years and lives that it took to take the planet.
He had liked Kael when he had first seen him. Strong tall and extremely loyal, before he had appointed him his first prime Heru'ur had ordered Keal to kill his father who had previously failed in a mission, in front of him. Kael had done so gracefully and without hesitation. But now standing in front of him was a jaffa that had seemed to have lost his faith in his god.
After a while Heru'ur spoke "Kael I find it disturbing that you have seemed to have lost faith in me"
Heru'ur roes his hand for silence as Kael quickly began his apologies.
"7 years ago your father failed me; he was punished; now his son has betrayed me"
Heru'ur stepped down from his golden thrown and took off his heavy cloak.
Kael was on the floor in front of Heru'ur begging for mercy as his godraised his hand. The room around them was filled with a bright golden light as Kael silently died.
Heru'ur went back to his thrown as the guards quietly removed the body from the alter.
Korin was a beautiful planet, in fact his favorite.
Yes Sokar would come.
And Heru'ur, son of Ra and Hathor would be waiting.
