"You picked the wrong place to trespass bub." Logan had the intruder pinned against the wall by his claws in just a matter of seconds.
"Logan! Let her go. She's a student." Orroro exclaimed as she turned on the light. Logan looked to see the terrified girl he had caught. Her brown hair fell in front of her face and slightly covered her deep green eyes.
"Shit." He retracted his claws and turned away from both of them. "I hate this place."
"It would help if you didn't go around attacking anyone that you didn't know."
"I'm not letting scum into this place Orroro. If I don't know someone they're dead wrong if they think they can just waltz in here like they own the place." He stormed over to one of the kitchen cabinets and pulled out a beer.
"No one was waltzing in here… Logan this is a school. You're not supposed to…"
"I don't see a problem with having it here. The students all know that it's mine and that if they touch it I will personally hunt them down. No one dares to go anywhere near it." Taking a swig from the bottle he took a seat at the counter and turned his gaze back on the girl he'd almost run through. "Sorry about the mix up kid. I don't always think with my head." The girl slowly moved away from the wall.
"You fight using your instincts. Usually that's the only way you can survive. I know how that feels." Her voice was soft but had a harder edge to it.
"Do you now?" Before he could say more Orroro cut him off.
"Leave the girl alone Logan. She's tired and has had a rough day. Come on Emilia. I'll show you to your room."
"Show her to her room? It's the middle of the night Orroro. How come she doesn't already know where her room is?" Logan glanced over at her expectantly waiting for an answer. The girl, Emilia, gave the reply instead.
"I just got here. I don't know where anything is in this school."
"You just got…." He stared at her for a minute before turning to Orroro. "She's the one that…. But if it was going to take all night…. Why did he not let me…"
"I can't give you the answers you seek Logan. Only Charles can."
"Then I might just have to have a talk with old Charles." Logan rose and downed the rest of his beer. He then turned his gaze back to Emilia. "It was nice to meet you kid. I'll see you around."
"See you around."
"Logan don't get upset with Charles. He always has reasons for what he does. You know that."
"Thanks for the tip but I know what I'm doing Orroro." With that Logan left the room.
Emilia watched Logan leave the room trying to figure out how she was able to get over her initial fear of him so quickly. She guessed that it had to do with how familiar he looked to her. She couldn't place it but she knew that she knew him from somewhere. Before she could ponder more Orroro pulled her back out of her thoughts.
"I'm sorry about Logan, Emilia. He doesn't quite know how to act around people. He's still used to being a loner."
"It's alright Orroro. Everyone has their things that are difficult for them. I don't blame him for it."
"You're a kind soul Emilia. You'll do well here." Orroro smiled at her before heading out of the room. Glancing over to the door that Logan had disappeared from once more, Emilia turned and followed her out.
"I hope you're right."
