A/N
Doodled this in response to an ad I got from EB Games. Reaper of Souls introduces an Oceanian server, and they decided to, um, 'celebrate' by giving Australia and New Zealand fantasy-esque names, with connection lines stemming from the "Heart of Ping" in Sydney. Not sure whether Rivendell exists in Sanctuary (does according to the ad though 0_0) but it got me to type this up.
Heart of Ping
At last I have reached my goal.
From the Drylands I travelled, past the monsters of that forsaken place. Did I say that anything in this Light-forsaken country wants to kill you? The demonic kangaroos were bad enough but then there were the fanged monsters of four feet that swam, the serpents of sin, the spiders that must have been spawned from Aranae herself…cursed, this land is.
I cut through the centre though. Past the Rock of Air, situated between the Northern Empire (of the north…just in case you're thick) and the Great Temple Lands of the south. Why they bear these names, I do not know. Divided, this land is. The land to the north isn't even a state, let alone an empire. Nor am I aware of any temples to the south. Just a gaping maw that bites into the land. They had an election there recently. Savages. Only the Light may bestow upon kings and emperors the divine right to rule. What's that? Yes, I know that Leoric said the same thing, and…what's that? He came back again? Bah! My point still stands.
So still I travelled, arriving in more fertile country. Could I travel south I wondered, to the Forest Isle? Word reached my ears that it might not be forested for much longer, despite the efforts of Skatsimi acolytes. The Light is for Man, not for nature. Nature is for Man, they say. Or what of the Sea of Colours to the northeast? A name I believe comes from its coral. Coral that is dying of course, but what in this dark world isn't? Especially after what word has reached my ears of Westmarch.
But finally, I've arrived. The Heart of Ping, located on the east coast of this forsaken land. Some adventurers mistook it for the Heart of Bling. Well, after the coming of Loot 2.0, maybe they had a point. But still, I've arrived. I could be connected to the wider world. To the heart, I travelled. At the heart, I've arrived. And at the heart, I curse. And scream. And weep. My terror has become manifest. And as I collapse on the ground, I feel nothing but hatred, and the urge for destruction. All because of the sign that hung outside its walls.
Warning – Error 33 in effect.
Light dammit.
