What is life?

What is it, if we're condemned

to a cattle-esque existence behind walls?

Walls that can be broken

Walls that were broken

Walls that broke our livestock complacency

When letting in the monsters of a century ago...

The worst thing in this world

is being helpless.

Helpless to the monsters

that consumed our friends.

Consumed our most loved ones

leaving us staring and crying

wondering how...

...how we could be trodden so easily.

Presented with the power

what would you do?

The power to become one of them

Matching fire's strength with fire

Destroy the ones who destroyed your mother's life

What would you do?

Would you do anything?

Anything that means

joining the ranks,

being a member of humanity's worse casualty rate,

venturing outside your protective shell

to the world our ancestors locked us out of?

What would you do,

knowing that there are many, many others like you,

others who have the same power as you, who gained it because of lack of power,

and they could hold the answers?

Would you do anything then,

when humanity's fate is a heavy bag on your shoulders,

with a death sentence trailing you

because you have the power to become

a monster?

The answer is

I would do anything.

Channel the rage of humiliation

Use it to fight; crush the oppression!

The age-old wall watches us with a tired eye.

Surprise it;

fight back!

Don't be the hunted

Let us become

Hunters!

Making the change we've wished for

to be able to life beyond protective gates

and see the wonders our ancestors have known.

Like, say,

a body of water

stretching across the earth

filled with salt.

Ocean.

A friend told me about this.

One of the many prizes of not living in the pasture.

To fight alongside the ones you care for

-Mikasa, Armin-

And protect the ones you're looking out for

while casting away the fear of dying.

The resistance has started, with the power to become one of them

The power to become a Titan

And end the war.

Become a hunter.

Become a hero.

Become...

Free.
