Goodbye

He was about to leave. About to leave this place for good, without coming back, ever. He had told them goodbye, meaning he would never come back.

She pressed back her tears as she watched him walk toward the edge of the airship, ready to jump over it, ready to disappear just like all the other people from his city. Dream Zanarkand.

Yuna couldn't let him go just yet. She still had things she wanted to tell him. The girl pulled into a run after him, ignoring her friends shouting her name.

And just when she thought she had him within her reach, so that she could throw her arms around him one last time, the girl fell through him. Right through his body.

The boy had turned around to take her into his arms when he heard her coming toward him. He too looked shocked by the fact that she had ran right through him.

Yuna held back every tear she wanted to cry out, only focusing on getting up from the floor. She couldn't let herself cry, not yet.

When she finally stood right up again, with her head held high and her tears hidden behind her eyes, she told him that one thing she still had left to say.

"I love you." Behind her could she feel the boy turn around and look at her, his eyes falling on her body.

She heard him walk closer to her, and it became harder to hold back the tears that wanted so badly to leave her eyes.

Then, two arms came around her, hugging her close to the person behind her. Him. She relaxed, and held close the short time they stood like that.

The boy let go of her and walked right through her, just like she had run through him not so long before.

Yuna saw him running the last part of the airship, before he jumped over the edge of it, flying away and out of her world. But not out of her heart. There he would always be.

And a single tear finally felt from her eyes.
