Welcome to the Remake of Ch. 1

Sorry for the long update but its hard to find time to write when I'm not inspired but ever since the english dub of Attack on Titan was released, and now airing on Toonami, I've found that extra boost.

There won't be anymore separate P.O.V's just Third Person (I find it much easier)

Lastly I will be starting over the story all together but I'm still using the characters that were already submitted so no worries there. And also as I write I will most defiantly be (in a sense) 'following' the manga, so any information given out in the manga it will most likely see its way onto this fanfic.

Please enjoy

...

Titans. The natural enemy of humans, giant humanoid monsters that feed on human flesh and blood. They appeared over two hundred years ago, pushing humans into the brink of extinction with their brute strength and overwhelming numbers. The remaining survivors were able to construct and retreat behind Wall Maria, Rose, and Sina for a century of peace. Until in the year 845, two breeds of Titans appeared, the Colossal and Armored Titan, barreling through wall Maria and doing the same thing five years later to the wall of the Trost District. But thanks to the Eren Yeager, and his unique titan abilities, humanity had its first victory against the titans by taking back control of Trost.

Since that day, humans has faced bigger and tougher challenges whether it was against the titans or against their own race. But with the aid of Eren Yeager, Levi Ackerman, and the Special Operations squad, humanity had once again survived its brush with death and brought peace to the walls for the second time.

Now, 140 years since the second wall breach, humanity has revolutionized industrially, expanding their arsenal of weapons, defenses, and even their way of life and with the scientific research of Grisha Yeager, the powers Titans or the Shifters are no longer a threat but a gain in human evolution.

But chaos will arise again within the walls but this time there will only be one dominant race, and come throughout these soldiers years, the Chaos will only build up and up until the day when they and the world comes face to face with Armageddon.

Year 985, Graduation Ceremony

Viktor Velasquez fought the persistent twitch of a smile from curving his features, a sense of pride welled up within the old veteran's chest as he regarded his young trainees from atop the stage that over-looked the grounds. By now, his eyes were adjusting to the dim light the torches on the walls illuminated for him seeing the raw emotion their expressions held and he couldn't have been more proud.

"What are you thoughts?"

Having heard Dorian Esmond's approach from behind, Viktor turned slowly, "Sir?"

The Commander of the Survey Corps came abreast of him and observed the crowd with the other man, "I was talking about the trainees. What are your thoughts on some of them?"

Viktor merely nodded as he pointed to one in particular, "Adrian Saito. Perfect in all attributes, he contested over everyone with overpowering strength, though it has earned him 1st rank, his 'charming' personality has earned him few friends."

"I knew someone like him once..." Dorian inclined his head to Viktor before darkly saying, "...And he died."

Choosing to ignore that last comment, Viktor pointed to another less foreboding individual, "Skylander Anderson, an average soldier who follows directions and completes his duties significantly."

"What is his rank though?"

Hiding his confusion at the question, Viktor merely answered, "Eight, sir."

"Hm." Dorian replied, unhelpful.

Nervously running a callous hand through his flat top hair, Viktor turned his attention to another of his trainees, "Devin Alexander is the exact opposite of Skylander. Devin, despite some of the early issues in his training, he poses all capabilities to succeed in the military."

"Who is that?" Dorian asked, pointed to a petite girl from across the grounds.

Squinting his eyes, he could barely make out the figure before replying, "...That would be... Rena Lightner, sir."

"And what are her strengths?"

"She is an exceptional solider who is popular and well liked with her peers." Viktor replied before his face fell into a frown, "The only issue with her is how naive she can be. She is loyal beyond reason rather to people than to principles. And she EXPECTS loyalty in return."

"If I may give my own thoughts sir. I feel as though a certain trainee isn't ready for what awaits ahead." He pointed to the boy standing besides Adrian.

"Ah yes, I'm very familiar with Iskander Berlin." Dorian remembered their first encounter, and neither made a good first impression.

"Ever since the... incident a while back. I can't verify his state of mind."

"I see... well then don't worry yourself Viktor. I'm sure these kids were quite a handful..." The Commander remarked. "Its a shame Christa couldn't be here." His sharp green eyes were hard and focused before announcing, "It is time."

With a curt nod, Viktor took a step forward, his lungs expanding on the large intake of air before the Head Instructor of the 200th training squad bellowed, "Offer up your hearts!"

The resounding voice echoed across the grounds as the trainees saluted their superiors with a loud 'Ha!' their right fist pounded into their chest while their left arm supported their backs straightening their spines as they regarded their Instructor and Commander with their undying attention and respect.

Dorian took the lead, "I am Dorian Esmond, Commander of the Survey Corps." He paused for effect as he took his fill of the sea of faces before him, continuing, "Today you will choose your military branch. Of the three divisions, there are: the Survey Corps, which explores outside human territory to hostile areas in a bid for expansion; the Garrison, which patrols and maintains the Walls keeping Titans out and acting as the first to engage the Titans if the gate is destroyed; and the Military Police serving as the personal guards for the king and maintain order within the Walls." Witnessing some of the trainees faces brighten upon serving the king, Dorian felt a twinge of guilt as he needed to explain further and one by one their smiles fell, "However, only the top-ranking soldiers may enter the Military Police. You know who you are."

"With that being said," Viktor took his chance to express his feelings to his young charges, "I wish to congratulate each and every one of you. You have all trained hard for this day learning the limit of your abilities and surpassing even my expectations of your character. I am proud to have been the Instructor of the 200th trainee squad."

As Viktor finished his speech, Dorian ended with this, "...I ask only this... who will offer their beating hearts to humanity?"

...

15 minutes later, Trost District

Cheering, boasting, & laughter took place in a neighboring tavern as boys and girls alike were just reborn into full fledged soldiers. Some still in uniform while others wore their street clothes. They spent what little time left talking, drinking and some got the opportunity to visit their loved one's.

Iskander Berlin stood alone outside, still in uniform, and the only one out of the hundreds of soldiers who weren't celebrating. He was older than all of the other graduates being that he just turned 18. He had blond, slicked back hair and his light blue eyes traced over at the night sky, watching the stars glimmer over the mountains. He was 6'1 and Iskander had a light tanned, muscular body. He also ranked second in the cadets, losing first to his German rival Adrian.

"Hey, Alex." Iskander but referred to his given nickname Alex, looked over his shoulder to to see Daisy Sasori, a fellow soldier and good friend he made while in the Trainee corps. She was four 4'11 and had pink eyes that complimented her jet black hair which was tied into ponytails and reached her ankles. She had very light tanned skin, though being Japanese, and though being known for being the most medically knowledgeable cadet she was also recognized for her attention hogging D-cup breasts.

"Daisy, you don't need to keep calling Alex anymore. Plus, wouldn't you prefer to celebrate with everyone else?" Daisy was never one for being social or leaving her friends to sulk especially during this time. Iskander continued with, "I'm not really in the celebratory mood right now."

"Well, you know me. I'm nervous when around a lot of people," she said nervously while twiddling her fingers. "Besides I wanted to make sure you were alright, Alex."

"I said you could stop calling me Alex." He groaned.

"Sorry but Alex is easier to remember plus I think it suits you better than Iskander."

"My name isn't that bad is it?" Iskander thought while sulking in his chair, thinking of how his parents choose him the wrong name.

"Anyhow, what division will you be joining? I think I'll be heading towards the Garrison."

"The Garrison? Why would you join them, your skills are more suited towards the Survey Corps. You could save a lot more lives."

Daisy couldn't help but smile for being complimented on her skill. "Thank you but its more of common knowledge than a skill. Besides, even with all the medical knowledge and physical training in the cadets I'm not exactly one of the strong, brave people here, not like you Alex." She was flushed when she said that but Iskander was to busy praising himself over her kind words to notice.

"Tell me something" She got the blonde's attention before following up, "...before I came out here, it looked like you were in some kind of trance. What were you thinking about?"

"Well..." Iskander spoke softly, "you see... today is the day when I-".

He was cut short when he heard the chime of a bell.

"It was the day you lost your arm wasn't it?" Iskander and Daisy jumped at the sudden appearance of the owner of the bell and the 6th ranked trainee, Rena Lighter. Her aqua blue eyes shined with confidence and she gave a bright smile thus getting the same from Daisy but Iskander scanned over Rena like her never seen her before.

She was one of the younger trainees to have graduated, being a year younger than Daisy. Her toned ,athletic body helped the fact that Rena was one of the strongest females in the cadets, even if she was ranked in the bottom five. She has the average height of a girl her age, being 5'4. Her brown hair is tied into a pony tail by the same bell that caught Iskanders ear and her bangs are sweep to the side, secured by a pink pin.

"Where did you come from Rena, and how did you know that?" Iskander said. "I've never told anyone, not even David." He mumbled the last part.

"My fathers but he wasn't there he was probably on a date or something. You know the usual."

"Actual I don't because I've never met your father and you still haven't answered my other question."

"How I knew about your arm right?" Rena chose her next words in the best way possible. "I didn't," She chuckled. "I just assumed and it appears I was right."

"Whatever, just try not to spread the 'good' word. I don't want that kind of attention."

"I don't know what the big deal is Alex? You shouldn't be ashamed of your arm." Rena grabbed his arm and pulled back his sleeve showing his metal hand. It was smaller than his normal hand and was a bit rusted but the parts that weren't rusted showed what little of Rena's reflection.

"How did you get it in the first place?" Daisy asked, finally getting noticed since Rena showed.

"First of all I'm not ashamed of it..." Iskander covered his arm, "I just don't want anyone's pity nor do I want them treating me differently because of it. As for where I got it, my father's a blacksmith and he built this for me. My father put all his time into this arm, time that he could have put to better use but yet he did this for me"

Iskander couldn't help but tense up at his own words, remembering all the hardship his parents went through to make him happy, so that he could accomplish his dreams. "...all because of my dumb mistake."

"That's enough." Rena grabbed the boys mans shoulders and turned him to face her. "I won't have one of my best friends getting all moody and depressed, not when I'm able to prevent it."

"Whats that supposed to mean?"

"It means that you, me, and Daisy are not going to waste this opportunity to get drunk off our asses."

"But aren't we underage Rena?" Said Daisy

"Shh, Don't spoil anything" Rena whispered, "Maybe we are but who cares? Besides if it'll keep Iskander from getting depressed then thats all that matters, so lets try not to bring it up again."

She then grabbed Daisy and hastily pushed both her and Iskander towards the Tavern. "Ok then! Lets go join everyone else and have fun.

The trio vanished within the bright lights of the building, engulfed by the fun atmosphere.
