"What is it?"
Hiei stared at the substance Kurama placed in front of him curiously. The koorime's large eyes blinked, and then turned on the redhead to his right. A grin tugged at the corners of the fox's mouth.
"It's ice cream."
The raven-haired demon regarded the bowl on the table, and then stared at the spoon that Kurama had put in his hand. The taller demon crossed his arms, smiling.
"It's a human food."
"I figured that, fox, but what is it?"
"Just try it, Hiei."
The fire demon warily dipped the spoon into the treat and clumsily brought it to his lips. The koorime cautiously licked a bit of the ice cream off the spoon, and froze. Kurama watched, surprised yet amused, as Hiei began to devour the contents of the bowl on a matter of seconds.
"I should probably warn you," the taller demon began. "That eating something that cold that fast can cause brain freeze."
Ruby red eyes turned to the fox, the metal utensil hovering outside parted lips. Before the question even left his throat, the spoon dropped to the table and Hiei brought his hands to his head.
"What the hell…" the fire demon gritted out.
Kurama tried to hide a smile. "I warned you."
"A little late," the koorime growled.
The fox laughed. "But at least you got to try something new."
Hiei snorted, but returned to the cold treat before him.
I was inspired by my bowl of ice cream a few nights ago to write a fanfic, and Hiei is my current subject. Just a short, silly little thing.
