It all happened in a matter of seconds. A normal mind wouldn't have even known what was happening. But Nico did. He was rounding a sharp corner on his way back home when it all happened. Nico saw the female driver, who was clearly drunk, seconds before. Unfortunately he couldn't do anything to stop what was bound to happen. The truck smashed into his own car, leaving him on the verve of consciousness and severely injured.

So this is it? Nico thought, gasping for air, blood coming from just about anywhere on him. After everything this is how it ends?

Nico laughs weakly, only causing him to wince in pain. What a heroic way to die. Nico closes his eyes. Maybe it's for the better. Everything I care about hates me anyway.

Nico mutters, resting his head back against the head rest of the seat. "Goodbye, Will. I love you." Before finally giving up. The world vanishing into a pit of eternal darkness.

The day before:

Will was still fuming from the fight that they had just had.

Gods, I can't believe I ever fell in love with him. Will thought bitterly.

Looking back on it, it had been a stupid fight that could've easily been avoided. But at the time they were both stressed and it seemed like such a big deal.

Will kept muttering under his breath about how stupid everything was. But by the time it came down to going to bed he had calmed down considerably and started regretting his words. He should've never said anything that hateful toward Nico, but he'd been to blinded by his anger at the time that he didn't even think about it. He didn't stop himself. Will looked over at Nico's side of the bed and sighed.

I miss you, Nico. Come back home, please. I'm so sorry. Will thinks before drifting off to sleep.

The next morning:

Will woke up early in the morning, perusal and got ready for work. He had to work a little longer in the hospital today and he was already running late. Will hadn't slept good last night. He was to used to sleeping next to someone that he woke up repeatedly during the night and looking around for Nico. Only to be disappointed when he didn't find him.

Will hurried to the hospital, skipping breakfast and going straight to work before his boss could get mad at him.

Will had always loved working at the hospital. In a weird way, it calmed him. To help people, to take care of them. It gave him a sense of accomplishment. However his mind couldn't stop drifting towards Nico. Almost like it knew that something bad was about to happen. Halfway through his shift he shook his head and told himself that everything would be fine. Nico can handle himself perfectly fine. Hopefully he'd be on his way back, that is, if he ever forgave Will.

After the shift:

He was driving back home when he spotted the accident. By the looks of it the truck first hit a car that looked strangely familiar to Nico's. Then the car swerved into another truck and got hit by that one too. The cops were already there and there was a women in her twenties getting put in an ambulance. One of the cops pulled out another man and Will's heart almost stopped. Devastation completely washed over him and he couldn't help the tears that were welling up in his eyes and soon running down his cheeks.

It was, Nico...His Nico...

Well...That happened. Hope you like it my little saplings! (Sorry if I just ruined your day.) Hopefully it wasn't to bad. I was hit by inspiration at three in the morning and I apparently just had to write my idea down before I went to bed. Goodnight! Or morning I guess, depending on when you're reading this...Either way I'm exhausted so I'm going to bed.
