The usual bla bla: I don't own AceeleRacers and neither the characters. The rest: A nice, little oneshot on the scene when the racers are in the Sweeper. Karma was so cute when she turned her head away as Taro looked to her. And I just had to write it.
So: Read, enjoy, review and tell me when there's some bug in the story.
#4: A handsome distraction
Everything had gone according to Kurt's plan: They had captured a Sweeper and put their cars into its bay where they now were waiting. Due to the Sweeper moving, the cars were constantly bumping and shaking a little bit, while Shirako's techno music busted through the room. Except Porkchop (but he was generally annoyed by Shirako), nobody really cared about the loud volume or the music itself – Kurt and Karma were used themselves to hear this music as Tekus, and Taro never let get anything to him anyway.
No wonder Lani had once fallen for him: With this self-conscious, mysterious
aura added to his good-looking appearance, almost every woman would
feel drawn to him. Suddenly
Taro looked to Karma, causing her to turn away. Until
now she hadn't even noticed herself that she was watching, but why shouldn't she? There was nothing better to do and of course it
wasn't like that she had done it on purpose; her gaze had at some
time just fallen on Taro and stayed there. So why the
heck did she look away?
No,
she wasn't embarrassed! And no, she didn't feel caught like an
ordinary school girl who was interrupted while imagining how the skin
of her crush would be if she touched it, or his hair or lips…
Karma
groaned. Not only she had lost her focus and acted because of Taro
like the girlish teenager she had never been during puberty (could
years of mastery of your inner self just vanish within seconds?) –
but her body did as well something Karma wished nobody would ever get
to see.
Cause
for her reputation as the collected and calm racer, it would appear a
bit odd that her face (fortunately very hard to see in the dim light)
matched in the moment Porkchop's hair colour.
