I don't have dreams. I have nightmares. In them, my friends and family are in danger and I can't do anything to stop them from getting hurt. Or I am the one in danger and they get killed trying to save me. In others, I have turned evil and am destroying the town, and when they try to stop me, I kill them without a second thought.
I know that these are not normal nightmares. They're not spiders attacking or drowning in a river. They are dark and disturbing. I often wake up screaming. My family used to come rushing to my room to see what was wrong but eventually they stopped coming. Then the dreams of them rejecting me appeared.
I know why I am having these dark dreams. Just like I know they are unlikely to ever go away. But I do not let them stop me from doing what I have to. I don't let them control me. The nightmares might terrify me but I will not let them control me. I will live my life the way I want to. Not afraid of my nightmares.
