Hibari! Hibari!
~~O~~
Hibari's day started out peaceful. His henchmen has beaten up 36 herbivorous students for not following the dress code. Some girls were punished to clean the gyms and storage rooms for wearing too much make-up. And the herbivore of a boss is punished for running away from him in the hallways. A peaceful day it was for him.
Nothing interesting was happening. Though random dynamites flew in the air and exploded, beating up the culprit was like breathing. And hearing the cries and wails of agony from that herbivorous boss was music to his ears.
Hibird continued singing the school anthem while he (Hibari) slept on his back at the rooftop. The small herbivorous bird was finally getting better. The range and the tone were finally in place. But Hibird couldn't fly as high as it used to and it bothered Hibari.
He opened one eye when Hibird stopped singing. The small, yellow bird started wobbling like a drunk. And before he knew it, the small thing fell. Thankfully, he caught the small thing before it hit the ground. He sat up while gently keeping his palm open. The small bird's eyes were looking at him. "Hibari… Hibari…" it said in a small, weak voice. Hibari gently caressed the bird's head. The small bird closed its eyes to its touch before falling asleep, its chest's ups and downs a sign that it's sleeping.
Relief filled Hibari's chest as he watched the small, harmless bird in his hand. The sudden emotion, such as worry, painted itself on his face. Again, with such gentleness, he stroked its head. He could feel his heart twisting. But his face didn't change. His chin didn't tremble. His eyes didn't water.
But his eyes shined when the sun peeked itself out of the clouds.
"Hibari…" the little bird croaked out, its eyes half-lidded but still looking at him.
Taking in a small breath, he replied, "What is it?"
A little silence filled the room as Hibird stared at him. Hibari could feel the strong heartbeats of the little herbivore in his palm. And before he could open his mouth, the small bird whispered, "Thank you…"
This time, Hibari took in a large breath and said with a heavy heart, "You were a strong Omnivore."
Hibird smiled. Well, it tried to look like it. But he didn't need to show Hibari that it was happy. It just closed his eyes. The strong pulses of the small bird vanished from Hibari's palm. The sky casted hues of orange and pink while the sun settled with mighty red beyond Namimori.
A dynamite was thrown in the air and exploded. Shouts and screams were heard around the school. But this time, Hibari thought of letting the culprits go, just this once. He was in no mood to deal with anyone right now. He just wanted to look up at the sky while he held his precious friend in his palm.
That's how his day ended.
It ended tragically peaceful.
The next day, no yellow bird sang the school's anthem while Hibari slept on the rooftop.

I regret nothing.
