Niles looked at Daphne holding David in the vet's office and couldn't believe it. He wiped the tears from his eyes-fortunately she was looking at David and couldn't see him- and tried to gather his thoughts. He truly was the luckiest man alive, not to mention the happiest. If anyone would have told him a few short years ago that he would have been standing here he never would have believed them. Daphne Moon-his wife- and the mother of his child? That was the impossible dream, and he had always been told he had had his head in the clouds as a child.

As much as he had adored Daphne from afar he never once had dreamt he would have a chance with a goddess like her. He knew sometimes she thought that she was not in his class, but that couldn't be further from the truth. When it came to grace and elegance and truth and beauty it was she that was out of his league. Whatever he did that caused her to come back to the Winnebago that day he would always be grateful. Fate surely was smiling him on that day.

Look at her. She surely was a natural born mother. Everything she touched turn to gold. She had a way about her that just truly amazed him, and he was in constant awe of her. Daphne was truly clueless of how much he adored her, though he told her time again. And David- well he would be the most secure child that ever was, growing up to be well aware of how wanted and cherished he was, if his parents had anything to say about it. If there ever was a child born of love, David was he.

She looked so perfectly content, fussing over her son. She was born to be a mother. Just like she was born to be his wife. Niles couldn't help it. He started to tear up.

"What's the matter darling?" Daphne asked as she looked up.

"I'm sorry my love. This is the happiest moment of your life and I've got you worried over me. Please go back to the baby. He needs you more than I do," Niles dried his eyes with his handkerchief.

Daphne smiled. "Nonsense. He is our child. This is our moment and I want you to share in it. You're my husband and I love you and if something is troubling you than I would like to know."

"Nothing's troubling me. Nothing could be further from the truth! I'm just so.. I'm just so happy! I never thought that I could be so..happy! I can't stop repeating myself.." he giggled, sniffling his nose.

Daphne smiled kindly upon him, understanding exactly how he felt. "Oh Niles. I feel the same way. I never thought that I would be here with you, the man I adore, and our son. I have dreamed of finding my Prince Charming and then you came along, right underneath me very nose all along, and you swept me off of me feet. And now here we are with a child of our own. Why I can't catch me breath thinking of it all!"

Niles found that he was speechless. Every time he heard that Daphne felt the same way he did always amazed him. "Daphne I love you."

"And I love you."

They stared into each other's eyes for a minute, then looked at David. "And we love you," Niles said, cooing at his son. Daphne smiled.

It was only a moment, but it was one they would treasure for the rest of their lives.

The end
