Dear Diary,

It's true I was pained

By my father's disdain

As he watched me cavort

On the basketball court -

In Dad's mind, it was football that reigned!

And my pride found it hard

Forever being a guard

Cried my beloved coach and mentor

"Goren's too short for a center!"

Those words left my young psyche scarred.

What I've never confessed
