There's a boy in the mirror and if you told anyone that they'd think you're crazy. After all, you are a girl. Why would there be a boy in the mirror if you're a girl? He might look a lot like you, like your reflection (which is technically what he is, considering he's what you see when you look into those chemically coated pieces of glass) but the fact that his hair is in a ponytail with no bow and he doesn't have the small bumps on his chest that you're now developing goes to show he is, in fact, a boy.

The first time you saw him you screamed bloody murder and got a bad scolding from your mother who couldn't see him.

The next time you saw him he flinched and covered his ears, as though he thought you would scream again (which he has a right to believe, considering you were biting back the urge to yell at the insanity of it all). It's then that, as you try to ask him questions, you realize he can hear but can't speak. It's a confusing concept to grasp, but there it is, a different yet similar looking person placed in the spot where your reflection ought to be. The best part? It isn't necessarily that he can't speak, it's more that, while his mouth separates and comes together in the process of communication, you can't hear him. That hurts more with each passing day you grow closer.

It hurts because, as you tell him about yourself, your hopes, your insecurities, the people and things you love and hate, you can never hear what he has to say. Most of the time he smiles with his eyes and gestures with his hand for you to continue. It seems he just likes to hear you speak, but you know there are instances when you speak of bad times and his hand twitches while his eyes seem to lose their shine. You can tell he wishes he was there to comfort you, wishes you could hear what he has to say, but he's stronger than you'll ever be in the sense that he faces his troubles with a grin and keeps being by your side even though you both know there's an extra sting with each passing day.

You wonder if he's trapped in the mirror or if you're the one who's trapped.

A/n:

In which I write a drabble involving Rin and Len as the main characters and I don't know whether to continue it or not. Enjoy~
