Something I found scribbled on a page of a notebook. Un-beta'd so all mistakes are mine. For those of you who've read 'Froid' a second chapter is coming, I'm just battling with the plot. Thank you for taking the time to read.

One Hundred Things

Kate Beckett couldn't name the sole reason she loved Richard Castle; there wasn't a huge, shining truth as to why she loved him, there were just a million little things that meant, in the end, he had her heart.

She loved his smile, the huge megawatt smile that caused his eyes to crinkle slightly at the edges. Not the 'celebrity' smile he used on the press and the fangirls and whichever media hounds were bugging him but the honest to God, heart melting smile that she'd only seen him use with a handful of people.

She loved the way every morning when she woke up his front was pressed against her back with his arms wrapped tightly around her as if to shield her from the suffering he knew she faced every day.

The way the shirt she'd acquired (he has yet to comment on her stealing it and her reluctance to part with it) always carries the faint scent of his cologne didn't hurt either.

She loved the way he almost always seemed to know what she needed even if it was, in fact, nothing at all.

She loved the way he respected her boundaries at work but the minute they set foot outside of the 12th his hands were all over her; innocent little touches that showed he was there and that he loved her.

She loved the way he was so protective of Alexis and yet once he was sure Kate was his 'one and done', if a twice divorced man can have such a thing, he let her into Alexis' life without the slightest hesitation because, in his words, 'you've proved yourself over and over and I trust you with my life, my heart and my daughter.'.

But mostly she just loved Rick Castle; not for a particular reason but just because.
