Liechtenstein stood outside the door to the room where Switzerland and Austria were conversing, holding a silver platter with a china set of teacups and teapot on top. She was waiting patiently outside, and was about to knock on the door when she heard her named mentioned. At that moment, she pressed her ear up against the door and shifted the tray around to a comfortable position.
"So, how is it like having Liechtenstein as a sister?" Austria mused.
"She's very nice, but I think she needs to toughen up, I mean, she's too soft," Switzerland sighed, "she can't even hurt a fly and she cringes every single time I smash a bug in this house." There was some rustling around the chair, as if someone was changing their position.
"Hm, maybe Hungary could teach her a thing or two…" the Austrian man trailed off as the door was swung open and in marched the blonde-haired girl with the ribbon in her hair, face devoid of the usual cheery smile. She took one last glance at the two men sitting down, and then ran out of the room. Both men in the room just barely saw the tears streaming down her face.
"Dammit!" Switzerland cursed, "sorry Austria, gotta go chase after her." Austria just barely heard the words fly out of the Swiss nation's mouth before the man sprung up and raced after his little sister.
She shut, no, slammed the door behind her when she reached her bedroom, and locked the door. Lichtenstein flopped down on her cotton sheets and stared up at the ceiling. So I'm too soft, huh? She sighed softly. Maybe… I can just learn how to toughen up?
Suddenly, an insane, but an idea that might work, hit her.
"Bye big bruder!" she called to Switzerland. He was going to the market, and to his surprise, his little sister had refused to go with him.
Giving him one last wave, Lichtenstein turned around and set to work.
"I don't know if I can do this…" she murmured to herself. Her nimble fingers gingerly picked up a shotgun. "Killing people? And animals?" she was partly horrified. She knew that hunters would go hunting for deer, elk, turkey, and who knows what else.
"Here goes nothing…" she breathed, and took the gun outside.
The air was a bit chilly, but it was nothing that Lichtenstein couldn't handle. Carefully, she pointed the gun at a nearby tree and aimed for a particular branch. BANG. The branch was shot down from the tree. She quickly ran over to it and picked it up, nestling it in her arms.
She was headed over to Hungary and Austria's house, a thin cloak wrapped tightly around her.
"Maybe Miss Hungary can teach me a thing or two about being tougher…" she mumbled, but her efforts were in vain. When she got there, Hungary had answered the door and asked what she was there for, Liechtenstein told her.
Hungary had only laughed, telling her that she shouldn't be getting into all this stuff about learning how to be tough, and that she should go back to sewing and cleaning, then had shut the door.
Oh, how no one understood.
So, basically Liechtenstein will kinda be in a Mulan situation... But yeah. And sorry if the story is confusing, but thanks for reading ^-^
