"How long had he been up there?" Perry asked, his way of greeting Jimmy as soon as he reach the younger man's side.

Jimmy, without taking his eyes off the telescope, shrugged. "24 hours?" He hazard a quess.

"Twitter feeds have not reported any Superman rescue these past hours, chief." He wave his smartphone.

"Damn." Perry thought trying to squint in the blue sky. He thought he see the red cape. Superman was so far, he must have imagine seeing the cape.

The Daily Planet globe creaked as it turn behind their backs. Perry feel cold sweat as he start to worry about Superman.

Superman's flaunting his alien nature by doing this stunt is so far a behaviour with how the superhero normally operate. This is not good, not good at all.

It rained the whole day on the second day.

Perry watch Superman who remain on the exact same spot in the sky via the only telescope they have. The lightning helps pinpoint and illuminates the caped hero.

Jimmy restless readjust his hold on the umbrella the two shared before he settle down into calm.

The daily planet rooftop gathered a crowd. It became quite a common thing to see crowds forming around the tallest buildings roofs in metropolis -keeping vigil with the superhero.

They dont know why Superman is up there. Some foolish tv crew rented a helicopter to ask yesterday- superbreath took care of that invasion of privacy.

The video they somehat captured show cold blue eyes on a glacial perfectly beautiful expressionless face.

"Jimmy that guy needs to touch the earth " perry said urgently. "We are starting to lost him."

"Chief, youre not making sense?" Jimmy said blinking as another lightning attracted to Superman hit the alien.

White just sigh. He feared his intuition is correct.

On the third day…

"Lois!!!" Superman roared. He vanish from the sky.

Lois Lane woke up from her hospital bed. "Superman." She breathe as she move her head to face the window. Knowing he will come.

"about time." Perry said cheerfully as he clasped Jimmy's shoulder.

Red boots landed finally on earth.
