She was sitting by the Black Lake reading, as usual. Draco was watching her from a nearby bush, as usual. He watched her make different faces as she read the fascinating story; laughing aloud at the funny parts, crying softly at the sad parts.

He was just as entranced by her as she was by books. Even though she was a Slytherin, she was never cruel to anyone. Well, unless someone hexed one of her friends - then watch out!

Luckily, Draco had never made that mistake. And yet, as he watched her, as usual, he was not brave enough to actually talk to her. He knew that she didn't approve of the way he treated other students. The look she gave him when he had hexed a first-year in front of her... Ouch!

So when she suddenly appeared beside him, he jumped out of his skin. He had been so lost in his thoughts, as usual, that he hadn't even noticed her look around, see him and approach his not-so-clever hiding place.

"Hello, Draco," she said, and he was surprised to find that neither her tone of voice nor the look on her face were disapproving.

She was a Slytherin for a reason, you know: if she wanted something, she got it. And at that moment, she knew what she wanted. She put a hand on Draco's shoulder, stood on tiptoe and kissed him on the lips. And soon, that was quite usual, too.
