I grimaced as Tetra gently knocked on her teeth. Yes, knock on them; like a door. The habit always caught me off guard. And it was like she was pounding them in or anything; you couldn't even hear the tapping ninety percent of the time. But that didn't make it any less gross…or odd. With a frown I tried to return to my scrolls but could only think of Tetra knocking on her teeth.
"I just want you to know Tetra that you have one weird little habit there," I grumbled and glanced up.
"What? You mean when I do this?" Tetra, now grinning, was knocking on her teeth. I felt my body shudder slightly.
"Yes that! What did you think I was talking about?" At this point I had full out abandoned those stupid scrolls, and was staring right at the sixteen-year-old captain.
With the most annoying shrug Tetra gave a muttered, "Nothing." And in seconds Tetra was studying her charts again.
I shifted; she had my complete and total interest. "What other weird little habits do you have?"
Tetra didn't even look up.
I shifted again and could feel a pout coming on. "Do you like…I don't know pick your nose?" Now, I know looks can't kill but I sure wasn't breathing correctly. "I was only joking! Lighten up!"
For a moment Tetra look pissed as hell. Then, and I'm sure it was a miracle, she began to laugh. I blinked several times as she covered her mouth with her kerchief. I then started to grin widely, that is one of those quirks I really don't see enough of. Tetra took a deep breath and seemed to grab a hold of her self.
I was a little bit, well, preoccupied to say the least.
She is really, really pretty when she smiles.
I was still grinning at her like an idiot when it hit me she had been staring at me for a least a full minuet. I'm such a lovesick fool. Then, instead of blushing and going back to those scrolls, I found myself grinning wider and…oh Din…did I just wiggled my eyebrows at her?
