Samantha Raven
By: Samantha Raven better known as Stix I had walked this way many times as a child. It was the trail that led to our "secret hideout". The trail was invisible to those unaware of tracking. I could follow this trail in my dreams. I hadn't been here in years, but on receiving a text today from Alex, had found me walking briskly through the forest. The old days came back to me all the old memories, good and bad. Something about being back was calming me, maybe it was the way the sunlight shone through the leaves leaving dappled patterns here and there, or maybe the wind rustling the branches far above ever so lightly. I slowed my brisk pace until I came to a stop. This place was... it was bringing me back to the times when I was still Samantha Raven. There is only so much tragedy a person can handle at one time , and frankly I was pretty good at it. From a very early age I began to lose those closest to me. At the age of two my father died in a car wreck ,I oh so narrowly escaped alive. Two years on a a typical Tuesday night my mother was late from her nine hour job and was mugged. I had no living relatives so I was sent straight to the foster homes. This is where I grew from being a girl who lost both her parents to a girl who had no one and liked it that way. I was never really loved or even connected with any of the foster parents. I had given up hope of ever finding a family, solely focusing on having the best grades. Around the age of 14 I ran away from the orphanage I had landed in finding a place to stay. I already had a small job and used that to live on. I was struggling until one day I met someone who changed my life forever by reaching gout to me and truly being a friend.
