Travel Companion

Serah hated how unfamiliar New York City still was to her even after living there for the past few months for school. The crowded streets, the noise, the overly tall buildings seeming to close in around her; it was all so suffocating. Even Luxerion was never this hectic. Still she would always miss the serenity of New Bodham the most.

She sighed and climbed onto the train, heading for home. Even the train was overcrowded. Glancing around it was clear that there was no place left for her to sit. Resigned to this fact Serah began pushing her way toward the nearest poll for her to hang onto when someone grabbed at her hand.

"Sorry." She said hurriedly, though slightly taken aback.

The older blonde woman shook her head. "No its okay. What I was trying to convey was-I mean-Sit with me there's plenty of room." She smiled, tapping her hand on her lap.

Serah hesitated and then nodded at the offer.

"Okay. Thank you, umm."

"Aya Brea." The woman smiled holding out her hand to the pink haired girl again.

"Serah Farron." Serah smiled shaking it before settling down on Aya's lap.

The two women conversed in small talk for the rest of the ride and as they slowly got to know each other Serah didn't even care when she missed her stop. She wanted to get to know this woman better, no matter what the rest of the train's rotating string of occupants thought or how long it took.

The End
