An Awkward Awakening

Disclaimer: I do not own Galactik Football and I make no money from this fic.

Thanks to indecisive-ays for the plot bunny for this fic- it's a continuation to 'The Awkward Moment When'.

The day started like any other- they were woken up at an ungodly hour, went down to practice- ordinary stuff. The normalcy was somewhat comforting to Rocket, but at the same way, completely disconcerting; he couldn't help but feel that everything had changed, that last night had changed everything.

"Hey," Tia said, plonking herself down on the seat next to Rocket's, setting her lunch tray down on the table.

Rocket jumped, despite the fact that the sound was not particularly loud.

"Sorry if I startled you," Tia smiled.

"That's alright," Rocket mumbled, trying not to look directly at her- a tactic he had been attempting almost the entire day.

"I take it you received mysterious summons last night too," she remarked, conversationally.

"Uh…yeah…" he said, blushing without really knowing why.

"Is it true that Artegor and Sinedd were there?" she asked, curiously.

"Uh, yeah," he said, again. "It was sort of uncomfortable, Aarch and Artegor kept bickering."

He was conscious, as he said it, that it was a massive understatement.

"I see, I should have liked to have seen that, would have made for some interesting footage- ours was very low-key, just Dame Simbai explaining everything."

Rocket nodded, unsure as to what he should say.

"Is there something wrong Rocket? You're quieter than usual," she asked, casual and yet as disarming as ever.

He made the mistake of turning to look at her, trying to keep his eyes firmly locked on those luminous green eyes of hers but finding the scrutiny unbearable.

"I'm fine," he muttered, unconvincingly. He made the fatal error of looking downwards instead of simply looking away. He found his eyes lingering on her slender body, the curve of her breasts underneath her t-shirt. He blushed harder at the lurid thoughts that were entering his mind against his will, thoughts that until last night's lecture, he'd never even thought to think- he'd lived a sheltered life, one with few members of the opposite sex present- basically until last night, he hadn't even realised the extent of his ignorance when it came to girls.

'Don't think about her like that. Don't think of her like that. Don't think of her like that,' he said, internally, trying to block out the images that were flooding through his head, ever more rapidly; Tia in various states of undress, Tia touching every part of his body, Tia lying on top of him in bed.

The rational part of his brain told him that this was normal for boys his age, but most of him just felt utterly humiliated.

"Are you sure you're okay?" Tia asked, sounding more concerned this time, snapping him out of his fantasies.

And then she started brushing crumbs from the front of her t-shirt, in a manner that seemed extremely suggestive all of a sudden.

"Yeah, sure," he said, all too quickly, standing up even more swiftly. "I just remembered…I mean, I forgot something in my room, I have to go."

He bolted, using his lunch tray to cover a certain unwanted man-reaction.

Tia watched as Rocket awkwardly exited the room, unsure as whether to laugh or to be worried about him- the boy did behave rather oddly sometimes but it was all part of his charm.

She just hoped she hadn't done anything to make him uncomfortable.

Yeah, that's it for this fic, I don't feel like it was particularly brilliant, but I hope indecisive-ays likes it anyways. The phrase 'man-reaction' is a reference to the show Dollhouse- you can find the meaning in urban dictionary if it wasn't obvious. So yeah, review please!
