One. Just one peaceful morning was all Weiss ever asked for. Unfortunately for her it never came. It seemed now for the last eighteen years her mornings have been nothing but absolute chaos, but that's how things go when you're raising two kids. How Ruby tricked her into having two she'll never know for sure. Now of course that doesn't mean she regrets the decision it's just that sometimes they could be…

"Hey! Give it back Garon!" A girl's voice could be heard from upstairs followed by loud stomps and a young boys devious laughter.

"Not a chance Summer! This thing is probably a gold mine of things to embarrass you with." The boy yelled back followed by more evil laughter.

… A handful sometimes. Weiss sighed. It was like this most of the time. Garon loved picking on his little sister. Sometimes Weiss thought he enjoyed it a bit too much. These two kids just might very well be the death of her one day.

"Garon! Summer! Both of you get down here now!" Weiss yelled up the stairs.

More loud stomps could be heard before Garon came sliding down the railing jumping off to stand right in front of Weiss holding his hands behind his back and wearing an innocent smile. Summer came after him more gracefully taking the stairs.

Garon Schnee the older of the two at eighteen shared Weiss' snow white and Ruby's silver eyes. He kept his hair long and messy most of it hanging in his face and covering his eyes. Weiss wonder sometimes how the boy could even see. Normally he'd wear a pair of jeans with a loose-fitting t-shirt with a band or some video game logo on it, and much to Weiss dismay he wore a pair of worn down ratty looking black combat boots. No matter what Weiss tried she could not get her son to get rid of those damn things. Every time she tried he reply with something like 'Mom always wears hers so why can't I wear mind' He was Ruby's son no doubt. He shared her love for hunting, fighting, weapons, and cookies. Sometimes Weiss wondered if he was like her at all. Then there were times when it showed. On more than one occasion she witnessed him become cold and distant like she use to be back at beacon. It always pained her to see him this way.

On stark contrast however, Summer Rose the younger of the two at seventeen, almost eighteen as she often likes to remind her family now since her birthday was in about a month. Was much more like Weiss. She was shy and timid. Hard trusting and had very few friends, but she never seemed lonely. She had long dark brown hair that went to the center of her back. She had begged for months to dye the tips red to match Ruby's and eventually they both caved and let her. She had Weiss' blue eyes and pale complexion. She generally wore a white hoodie a bit too big for her with blue jeans and black converses.

Weiss was always too ashamed to admit it but she always got a twang of sadness when she heard Summers name. Whenever they decided on having kids there was a lot of arguments on names. An argument Weiss had won for the first child, but when they found out the second was a girl Ruby had asked if they could name her Summer after her mother. Weiss knew how much she had meant to Ruby so she agreed almost without a moment's hesitation.

"Garon give back to your sister whatever it is you stole this time. She used the same motherly tone she had used on Ruby all those years ago at Beacon.

"Fine." Shamelessly Garon he took his hands from behind her back and held up a small black book with red lettering on it that read Summer Rose. Summer Quickly snatched it from him and held it to her chest protectively. "Probably nothing good in it anyways." He chuckled when he saw his sister glare at him.

"Garon aren't you a bit too old now to be playing these kinds of tricks on your sister?" Weiss asked with her arms crossed.

"Come on mom you know you are never too old to pick on family. I mean just look at you and mom." He said dismissing his mother's look. It never really affected him anymore after eighteen years of it. To a point he was right. Ruby and Weiss did pick on each other quite a bit. Somethings hadn't changed since beacon. That being among them.

"Even so there is a line that you don't cross son and someone's personal diary is crossing the line." Weiss said sternly.

"Yes Ma'am" Garon said defeated. Well fake defeated. He had to pretend he learned his lesson so he could ask his next question. "Hey mom can I go over to Cassy's today?" He begged with puppy dog eyes. Another trait he picked up from Ruby and it bugged Wiess to no end.

"Yes, you may only if you promise to stop picking on your little sister like this" Weiss knew this wouldn't really change much but she had to try anyway. If anything, it would give Summer a few days of peace.

"I promise. Thank you, mom. you are the best." Garon bolted up the stairs and back to his room. Presumably to get ready to go over to his friend's house.

That left Summer and Weiss alone at the bottom of the stairs. Summer looked up at her mom and gave her a sad smile. One Weiss was all to accustom to seeing from her daughter and every time it broke her heart to pieces.

"Thanks for getting it back for me Momma." Summer said timidly after Garon was gone.

Weiss ruffled Summer's hair a little and smiled. "No problem Snowflake."

Summer pouted at her mom. "Mom I asked you not to call me that remember? I'm too old for it now." Summer had been trying to get rid of her old childhood nickname her whole family called her for months now, but no one was really listening to her. She thought it was childish now.

"You'll never be too old for it but ill make you a deal. Around company I won't call you it alright?" Weiss ever the deal making business woman simply refused to let the name go.

"Alright I can deal with that." Summer smiled shyly "I'm gonna head to my room." Summer gave her mom a quick hug before taking the stairs back up to her room and leaving Weiss alone at the bottom. Off to talk to her best friend Serra no doubt. Those two seemed almost inseparable. Where ever there was Serra summer wasn't too far behind and vice versa.

It was several hours now after the whole diary fiasco when Ruby walked in through the door. Only Weiss was present in the kitchen. She was sitting at the table mulling over a stack of papers that would make anybody but her dizzy. Ruby greeted her with a quick kiss before speaking.

"Hey Weiss. Where are the kids? No wait let me guess. Garon is at Cassy's..."

"Yup."

"… And summer is up in her room probably talking to Serra."

"Yup." Weiss was a bit too distracted by her papers to give more of an answer.

"Those two are so predictable I swear." Ruby chuckled before taking a seat across Weiss. She watched the woman shift through the stack of papers before finally sighing and leaning back. Ruby learned long ago that when Wiess was working like this to wait for her to be done or take a break. Which she always did to make time for her or the kids.

"Indeed they are. So how was your hunt, Love?" Weiss asked before taking a sip of her coffee and rubbing her temples.

"It went well. Nothing too exciting this time really. It was kind of a letdown honestly." Weiss shook her head at the woman sitting across from her. She for one was happy that there wasn't anything 'too exciting this time' Ruby's idea of exciting was taking down a nevermore by riding its back and clipping its wing or something crazy like that. It scared Weiss half to death when Ruby went out on hunts that had the potential to be 'Exciting'.

"Oh by the way Yang and Blake said we should all get together sometime soon."

"Yes I think that would be nice. Its been far too long since I've seen them." Weiss hadn't been on many hunts since the kids were born and she took over her family's business. One because she was so damn busy the other was because she had lost the thrill of the hunt when the kids were born. It was too risky in her mind.

"Well you know snow angel you could always come out on a hunt every now and again." Ruby tried convincing Weiss with her best puppy dog eyes.

"Ruby you know those don't work on me anymore. Plus look at all this work I have, and this is just what I brought home today." Weiss was an undeniable workaholic. Didn't make things easier that she wouldn't let anyone else in her company touch her work. She didn't all of it herself.

"yeah yeah I know." Ruby said defeated. "That's why they asked about dinner Friday night."

"Tell them that would be great. Do they want the kids to come?"

"Well they wanted to come here." Ruby replied.

"alright tell them to be around at seven then. Ill cook." Weiss said finally looking back at her papers effectively ending the conversation.

"Yes! I love it when you cook." Ruby exclaimed loudly.

Ruby's outburst made the white-haired woman smile softly. What a dork she had married.
