TALE OF THE BROKEN ALLIANCE

The two great powers,

Who conquered all,

Their alliance stands on the brink of destruction.

The allies begin to break away,

Their friendship broken over a small argument,

Over secrets, over hidden truths,

Over the stubbornness of both to give in,

Over their inability to fold in to each other.

Their friendship fades in the darkness of their quarrel.

Will they be allies once again?

They both ask this question.

They both sit reminiscing the good times,

The good times they have had together,

And the spoils of their greatness.

Still too stubborn, yet so desperate,

So desperate they are for the argument to end,

For them to be rid of this pointless fray.

Their fight takes them further away from friendship.

Harder, now is the path back to friendship,

Harder than both the great powers have ever endured.

Will this fight make the world better or worse?

Only time will tell.

But it will most likely be the latter.

Tears roll down their cheeks,

The pains of war to hard to bear.

Conflict makes monsters of us all.

The great powers do things they would never attempt,

Things that they are ashamed of.

Things that should have never been said,

And actions that should never have been completed.

The propaganda machine keeps rolling,

Turning the great powers allies against each other.

What was once a loving friendship became a bitter hatred,

A hatred that neither intended on creating.

Moral grows low as the war keeps on going,

The wars we keep waging,

The battles that make the great powers cry out in pain,

The widows of war crying in grief for what is lost.

An iron curtain falls between where they stand,

An iron curtain made by the war machine,

An iron curtain that only love can rust.
