The crowd cheers, the curtain drops for one last time. There's a mad rush as people get autgraphs. The janitor cleans, everybody leaves, the door closes for one final time. The end of an era is over. But is it really? NO!
RENT can never be fully closed. People will always rember the songs of love, of celebrating, of heartbreak. No matter who you are, where you live, if your rich or poor you will rember. RENT will forever live on.
Yes it sucks it's closing ( how I dread June 1st), it hurts, it makes you want to cry. When I first found out I litteraly cried for an hour. All I could think is "it's over, it's over". But then I got to thinking, NO it's not over! It's too full of life, it still has so much people to touch, the story's too big, people will rember, they have too.
So let's not sit & cry about it ending. Be happy we had it! For 12 long years RENT has touched people's lives, & saved many others. So let's not sit & cry,celebrate ( rember no day but today!). Mimi, Roger,Collins,Angel,Mark, Benny,Maureen,& Joanne will always live on.
I know this sounds cliche but thank you Jonathane Larson, you gave us a great musical. So on June 1st whether your in Texas, New York, Germany, or under a rock somwhere, lets celebrate one last time & say goodbye to some of or closest friends.
