There was a tap at the great oak door, it echoed around the candle lit
room. From within the room an eerie voice sounded. "Enter". Slowly the
wooden door creaked opened letting in a slight breeze coming from some
where beyond the stretch of light. Standing in the light was a hooded
figure; they stood tall, and slowly looked around the darkened room before
stepping into the dark. The figure closed the door sending all the light
back outside, leaving the dim candle flickering on some kind of desk on one
side of the room. There were a few unearthly minutes that passed, the
hooded figure remained in the position he last stood in and didn't move a
muscle. Suddenly from within the room the same voice spoke up, his voice
was strong and pounded against the walls of the room.
"Have you got what I sent you for?" The voice sounded from somewhere in the room. The figure who had no idea where the voice was coming from reached into his cloak and brought out an object. He held it in his hand, in the candle light it could only be made out to be a ball of some sort. The voice sounded again but this time laughing, it was a cold laugh, the hooded figure shuddered as his head darted around the room still trying to find where the voice was coming from.
On the furthest wall away from the hooded man a small glow started to appear. It was obviously coming from a wand of some sort. The voice sounded again, holding the wand to one side of the room. "Lumos" Within an instant the fireplace lit up with a brilliant golden orange flame which engulfed the whole of the hearth. The room was filled with the light coming from the fireplace, now the room could be clearly seen. All that lay in the room was a single desk with a tall chair turned away. From one side of the chair the wand, which had just been used was just poking out from the chair, no hand could be seen holding the wand.
The hooded figure was still standing with his hand clutching the object that could now been seen in its full glory. The object looked like a crystal ball, made out of dazzling glass which when the light shone through it, the inside shone with colours of the rainbow glittered in the light. The crystal ball must have been worth a huge some of galleons, far beyond the normal price of crystal balls.
Suddenly from behind the chair a cloaked figure stood up and turned swiftly facing the other figure. The hooded figures hands trembled as the wand of the other person rose high in the air before the words "Avada Kedavra" was sounded and a enormous light filled the room and hit the other figure. He fell, still grasping onto the crystal ball with all his might. There was a thud as the body hit the ground seconds later then silence. The hood of the man now lying on the cold floor had slipped off and a face of a young man could be seen, his eyes where transfixed, wide open. There was no doubt about it, he was dead.
From within the darkness of the other hooded figure there came a shrill laugh that would have sent the hairs on the back of your neck to stand up on end. The laugh echoed around the room several times before the room fell silent again. The hooded man walked, or was he? It was hard to tell, there were no footsteps on the stone floor and you couldn't see no feat. Either way the hooded man approached the body of the young man. He stopped and bent down to pick up the crystal ball from the fingers of the young man. It took a brief period for the hooded man to pride the fingers apart to retrieve what he wanted.
The hooded man lifted the crystal ball up level with his hood and turned it around slightly. Then the shrill voice sounded again. The voice sounded slow and almost hissed out. "Yes . this will do. Not long now until I get my hands on that Potter." There was another shrill laugh, then blackness.
