Pipit came to find in his teenage years that he had no sense of time. When he walked through the streets of Skyloft at night he didn't feel time passing. He just knew that when the sun started to peak out over the horizon that it was time for him to head inside.
His sense of time never got better, either. He never seemed to know what time it was, no matter who asked him or when. On that note however, he also never seemed to be late to anything. He knew when the bells rang he had to get to class. He knew when the sun set he had to go patrol. He knew when the sun rose he went to sleep for a few hours until classes.
It was no surprise that, after he graduated, he still had no sense of time. The only difference was he didn't have a set of bells to tell him what to do.
But for some reason, that first day with no classes, time didn't matter. He came home from his last patrol as the academy's night watch, slipped into bed, and slept.
And he didn't care about time.
