The winter searching for the summer
=====================================
The water rippled and broke the moonlight as Ryouga traced his finger through it; His hair fell down over his eyes and hid them from the rest of the world. It had been so easy in the beginning. But now, after all this time, he just didn't know what to do. Did this world really have a place for him or was it time to give up.
Looking around the Tendo backyard to see if anyone was around, Ryouga reached up and untied the knot holding his bandanna in place. Pulling it way, he regarded his reflection in the water, he took in the long bangs of dark hair falling down over his eyes, the lines starting to form from his despair and anger. It was a face of a man at a loss, someone who didn't know what to do.
Ripping a hand through his image Ryouga snarled. It wasn't fair, why couldn't he be just like everyone else. Why did he have to inhuman strength? He couldn't hold the ones he loved without harming them. And even if he did find someone that loved him back, would the love hold out through the endless nights and days spent alone, alone because he couldn't find his way through a room without getting lost.
He hated himself for what he was, and he hated his parents for bringing him into this world, couldn't they see the pain he felt, the loss? Friends that never was or tended to forget him when he never showed up again, the harsh words from other kids parents telling them not to talk or play with him out of fear, he didn't blame them, after all, who would want their kids to play with a monster, a monster who could already crush a small stone at the age of five.
It hurt so much to remember, just as much as the days he spent alone in that big house. The fear he had felt when he had started to get lost himself. The feeling of standing in a forest or field with no idea how you had gotten there, or where there was for that matter.
He had felt so lost when he eight years old. Two years and he had only seen his parent one time, one time. And it hadn't even been at the house. No, it had been somewhere out there, somewhere in that endless world of forest, fields and cities. With their endless faces and promises of happiness, promises that was always broken.
Turning his head around, Ryouga stared up at the window as he had done so often. It was dark as always, just like the world, yet he knew that what he needed was in there, the one to break his endless winter was sleeping in there. And he was out here, alone as always. Lost in world that had no place for him.
Lifting his hand, Ryouga reached out towards the window, trying to reach in and touch the one sleeping in there. But it didn't work, it never did. Turning way from it, Ryouga lifted his backpack. It was time to wander again, to search for a light, a summer that would embrace him and never leave him.
As Ryouga left the yard, the window was filled with a soft light and a lone figure looked out through it folling the lost boy as he left for a place unknow. But it was alright. The summer would keep waiting for the winter to find its way back.
The end.
