This is my alternate ending for the Battle of the Labyrinth. It starts from the battle where Annabeth and Percy are about to fight Kampe.
I don't own any of these characters or the first 4 lines of dialogue. Its all Rick Riordan's.
"This might be it," Annabeth said.
"Could be."
"Nice fighting with you Seaweed Brain."
"Ditto….." If I was ever gonnna tell her, it was now or never. "And I wanted you to know, I love you," I said looking forward. My face started burning up.
"You what???" Annabeth's sword clanged to the ground as she stared at me, wide eyes filled with disbelief. I couldn't lose focus now. Kampe was seconds from killing us both. She swung her deadly swords at the unguarded, unaware, Annabeth.
"ANNABETH!" I screamed. I threw myself at her and we tumbled out of the way of the poison coated swords. Kampe hit the ground, narrowly missing us. I jumped up from Annabeth who was still stunned and in shock. Facing Kampe, I raised Riptide, ready to defend myself. All of a sudden a rock landed in her mouth and I saw Briares launching huge boulders into her mouth. I ran over to Annabeth, who seemed like she was recovering but was still sitting on the ground. I held my hand out to her to help her get up. She took it and stood up too quickly. She swayed and I steadied her. "Careful," I said.
"Thanks. So you love me huh?" she said, cheeks turning red.
"Uh, well, yeah, I was just—" Her lips silenced mine then and she kissed me in front of everyone, who then started the wolf-whistling, awws, and hooting.
When she drew back, she was smiling. "Well then, I guess I love you too."
