I got this idea while writing Taken, when Beast Boy commented on Raven thinking everything was pointless. So, I wrote a little story set during "Go!". It's a little choppy, but it was more for my own enjoyment than anything else. Enjoy it!
Disclaimer: Nein!
As she walked down the lonely streets of Jump City, Raven reflected on how people's lives took on shapes. As of right now, her life was a circle, pointless.
It hadn't always been that way, though. Growing up, her life had two points—her mother and the priests of Azarath. They were her reason for living. But when her future was revealed, a larger point took over those two. She had to stop her father. And that was all that mattered. So she went to the Justice League.
So much for the protectors of this world.
They hadn't even listened to what she had to say. Now as she walked dejectedly down a certain alleyway, her plead rejected by the Justice League, even that point was well-rounded. Maybe they deserved it. It's not like she could do much about it anyway. Perhaps it was meant to be this way. The priests were always talking about fate. And this was hers.
Raven stopped before one of the major streets in town and looked down at her feet. The priests in Azarath also told her that someone's fate could change, if that person really wanted it to. She sighed. Right now though, changing hers felt absolutely futile.
Raven grimaced as she forced herself to control these negative emotions. It would be easier if those people in the middle of the street weren't…
She immediately looked up to see a girl with red hair and glowing green eyes and metal enveloping her hands and arms fighting a boy with a vibrant outfit. She had seen the boy before. A newspaper article about "The Boy Wonder" had a picture of him. She remembered him looking more impressive in the picture, though…
Soon, another boy had joined up with him. Black, purple, and silver cloth made up his suit. And he had… green skin? Well, she'd seen worse.
And yet another person joined this hodge-podge group when the girl threw a bus at them. This one was thickly built, but with a sweatshirt and sweatpants on, Raven couldn't get a good look at him.
Why were they all fighting? She knew it wasn't any of her business, but she couldn't help but feel that she should help in some way.
So, when the teen in green, yellow, and red rushed towards the girl, she stopped him and appeared behind them.
Raven had been refused by the Justice League because they thought she was evil. She wouldn't let the same thing happen to this girl down on her knees out of exhaustion.
"Maybe, fighting isn't the answer," she proposed to the three boys, who were staring at her.
Little did Raven know that she had just set the stage for four new points to sharpen her circle of a life.
In case, you didn't understand the last sentence: The four new points are her future teammates. They are her points for living. Get it?
