Author's Note: Imagine what would happen if DCAU's Batman had reacted as what happened in BvS. This story has a Batman that has already been 7 years active and a Superman that just debuted almost 2 years before (Like the DCAU version when they first met). In this story Dick has recently become Robin and Superman's origins is a just like MoS, only with the inclusion of Chloe Sullivan (from Smallville )and the difference that Lois Lane does not know Clark Kent is Superman yet. It's a little bit complicated but I'll do my best to write it in av way so everyone understands. Hope you enjoy it :)
PROLOGUE: THIS IS WAR (BRUCE WAYNE'S POV)
Everything has changed, and nothing will ever be the same again. Gods fly in the skies, hurl thunderbolts, run faster than the sound, and as a result innocents die. All started with the Kryptonians' arrival two years ago. That Superman. We discovered we are not alone in this universe. We learned it the hard way. The fight between Superman and Zod had three villages decimated and half Metropolis destroyed as a result in this side of the planet. The other side, around the Indic Ocean got deeply affected with tsunamis and floods. Many people died that day. Casualties range around seven thousand and he hasn't responded to what he has done. He's out there playing god. But he's no god, not even a man. People seem to like him, even Alfred and Dick. They see him as a savior, a messiah, but they don't realize what he really is, and we do have to look at him as what he really is, a threat. If he wanted to, he could wipe out the entire human race without any effort and we wouldn't be able to do anything to stop him.
I've seen by myself how powerful he is. I was there during the Black Zero Event. I saw chaos, many buildings down, parents looking for their children, children looking for their parents, people suffering and people dying. Wayne Financial subsidiary building in Metropolis was destroyed that day. The building wasn't evacuated on time and dozens of workers died. Among them there were many friends. What if he has another fight? Does another city have to suffer the consequences of that alien's actions? Or maybe a whole country? Or even the entire planet? He snapped Zod's neck. So that means he's a killer. What if there's someone he doesn't like or opposes to him? Will he kill him too? He is now hiding, posing as a normal human being, but what if he gets bored of living among humans and decides to rule the world? We can't trust him. We can't give him the advantage of time and I'm gonna have to stop him. If the worst happens I might have to break my vows and I will have to destroy him.
Although it seems practically impossible to stop Superman, I have found a way. Lex Luthor's company, LexCorp, has recently made a research around the area where the Kryptonian terraforming engines were used. They found a new mineral, a green rock. It might have formed during the terraforming process. They have previously experimented on Zod's corpse with no success due to Kryptonians' extremely high invulnerability. They couldn't do much but when they subjected Zod's corpse to that rock, his cells got weak and they could finally penetrate on Zod's skin. They called it Kryptonite. If Kryptonite can debilitate Zod, for sure it will debilitate Superman and I will be able to make Kryptonite weapons and take him down once and for all before he has the opportunity to destroy us.
