His mother always loved flowers. She used to plant them in every corner of their house. Now that she is not here anymore, the flower shop is in his hands. He keeps it very clean, taking care of each and every flower in the shop. He never thought he would someday take care of flowers, but now that he has actually taken up the job he wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. The shop is in one of the peacefull and quiet roads of Sina City and his apartment is right above the shop. Customers come and go every day. They like his flowers, saying that he has a natural talent for them. He thanks them everytime. Now, at this time of the day the shop doesn't have any customers. He is standing by the counter, looking through Instagram. He isn't the kind of person to use social media, but when his friend made a fuss about it he opened one. And here Auruo had posted yet another photo of himself in one of the football matches and had filled it with all kind of hashtags about good times and stuff. He rolls his eyes. This guy posts a million photos every day. Doesn't he ever get tired?
He hears the click of the door, meaning a customer had come in. He closed his phone and put it back in his jacket pocket. He stood up, preparing to serve the customer who had just came in.
"Hello! How can I help you miss?" -he says politely.
"Hi! I'm here to buy a boquet for a friend. If you don't mind I would like to see the flowers please."
"No problem. This way." -he leads the way in the many shelves full of flowers. He can't help but notice the way she bites her bottom lip in concentration, thinking which flowers to choose. She is a pretty thing he realises. Her hair falls down her shoulders and her little freckles, almost non-excisting, adore her cheeks. She seems to have liked the purple orchids.
"I guess I'll take this ones then."
"Okay. I'll have them made in a few minutes."
He prepares the bouquet with ease and heads it out to her. She pays him and waves him goodbye. Astonishingly, he likes this girl. He didn't like people easily but this one was different. He would like to see her again but that's unlikely to happen. What a pity, he thinks, he didn't even catch her name.
Some days later he catches a glimpse of her at the mall. He is with his best friend, Erwin, shopping for Christmas. One moment she is looking at something and the next she is walking towards them.
"Erwin, long time no see!" -she says, as she gets on her toes to hug him. Erwin puts his big arms around her, hugging her as well. He thinks this is a funny sight. The girl being much smaller than Erwin and he looking like a big bear.
"Petra how are you?"
"Well and you?"
So her name is Petra. It suits her he thinks. He also wonders how do her and Erwin know each other.
"This is my friend, Levi." -Erwin introduces. Petra's face takes a look of recognition.
"Oh I remember you! You're the guy at the flower shop! Nice meeting you again my name is Petra. I loved your flowers by the way." -she says warmly, holding out her hand. He also holds out his hand and shakes it.
"Nice meeting you too Petra. I'm glad you liked the flowers." -he says politely.
"Oh Levi is the best of the best. He's very talented." -Erwin says.
"That's great."
Together they sit at a café. He came to learn that Erwin and Petra had gone to college together and had remained best friends since than. He also learned that Petra lives with her father and works in an art gallery. She also loves flowers and has filled her whole balcony with them. She tells Levi she will come more often to his shop to buy flowers. He is more than happy, seeing her again would certainly be for the best. He likes her. She is kind, sweet, fierce and he likes every bit of her personality.
In the weeks that follow him and her begin to form a strong bond between them. They go out together and she even helps him with the flower shop when she has free time. He had told her that there was no need but she had said that she liked doing it. Erwin had started hinting at something going on between him and Petra, but he had always ignored him. The truth was, he was too afraid to confess his feelings. Maybe she didn't feel the same way and he didn't want to ruin their friendship.
It was actually the high schooler, Eren, who lived in the apartement near his that had managed to convince him. Eren had acidentally heard his conversation with Erwin and had said to him that if he didn't tell her now he might miss the chance. Amazingly, those words had given him some courage so on Monday he had closed the shop early and had gone to the park. He had invited her to go for a walk in the park. He waited a few minutes before she showed up.
"Hi Levi! How have you been?"
"Good thanks. You?"
"Yeah I've been fine myself too."
"Listen Petra I-i-i actually want to say something." -he says through nervosism. He tries to compose himself and after a deep sigh he looks at her again.
"It's been sometime since we have known each other and we get on pretty well. I mean, we share come interests and s-since I met you I began having feelings for you. And now I'm sure that these feeling are really something and I might not get the chance to say this again but I love you Petra Ral!" -he says everything in a breath, waiting for her response but looking anywhere but not at her.
Petra feels shocked for a moment, but again she also has feeling for him and it's cute how he's confessing. She cups his cheeks with her hands and looks him directly in the eye.
"I love you too Levi." -she says and than kisses him. He kisses back not thinking about anything but her and her only. When they brake the kiss they look at each other smiling.
